The starting point to other who read this :this is a hostel, so if you are in a shared room, do not expect to be as if you were on a private hotel room with full service. My experience was excellent, great environment, people/guests, clean swimming pool, great area to stay in.

I arrived today in playa del carmen only to realise that Selina Playa del Carmen is temporary closed. No information has been given by neither 'expedia.com or the hotel/hostel. Very disappointing. Thank god I was able to find quickly a place to stay.

The place is fantastic, the environment is very chill, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. It was very cool that they had a good barber inside the hostel. The breakfast was excellent too, it is definitely worth paying for. The only con was that the water in the shower was always cold.

Chambre standard accueillante contrairement au chambre micro qui sont representatives de leur nom. Emplacement centrale m. Accès simple à la plage. J'étais sur la rue principale. Agréable pour voir la vie le jour du balcon mais le soir tres bruyant et des travaux se font la nuit au mexique sans se soucier des habitants.

Great stay, perfect location on main road and also just a 3min walk to the beautiful beach and restaurants are all around. I’m very happy with my stay here! Wish the beds had curtains and shower rooms a fan but other than that I’m happy.

Razoável pois o atendimento dos funcionários não foi muito bom, não eram simpáticos e faziam as coisas de qualquer forma para dar contar. Meu quarto tinha mofo do ar condicionado, ventilador enferrujado é um buraco no banheiro que saia gosma preta (nem sei o que era). Deixei o quarto para arrumar e a moça somente ajeitou a cama bem mal feita e não limpou o banheiro incluindo a gosma. Privada não tinha vazão de água e precisava dar 3/4 descarga

I would give the staff 9/10 and the vibes 10/10 however the only thing that was off were the rooms were not very comfortable and the airconditioning wasnt on until 10 pm and was automatically on 24 degrees so i was barely able to sleep as it was super hot

Selina felt really commercialized. While the other hostels in town were much more warm and friendly, here the staff were there to churn through guests. The common space is the only positive here - the pool and bar areas were really nice. The bathrooms were constantly disgusting, there is super loud music until 3am every night in the surrounding clubs, the private room lacked the basics. Very very overpriced compared to the nice hotels nearby. I also don’t understand how there’s a coworking space when the music is so loud.

The positives: close to everything and walking distance to the Cozumel Ferry, bus station, mall, restaurants, very imaginable activity and strong WIFI available in public areas; however not on rooms. They have many activities for the guest, like dancing & Karaoke, so if you don't need to work remotely, and are young and on vacation, this is a good place to stay. As a digital nomad, it was difficult to work in public areas due to the noise level, lack of outlets, and uncomfortable sitting. Needs improvement in the following areas: They have a work area but you need to pay in addition to the already expensive lodging prices. The kitchen is dirty, does not have basic necessities, like adequate space, dishes & utensils or working sinks. the sinks are always full of water, dirty dishes, fridge super full, no peace to put your things. I had a private space but paid higher prices than in nicer hotels. the only reason I stayed here was for the WIFI but it was still difficult to work or sleep due to the noise level. There are plenty of nicer hotels at a less expensive prices

La niña de la entrada que está a la mañana le falta un poco de empatía, un día sin agua. Llegue y mi cama tenía las sábanas sucias, me las dieron para que yo las cambie. Le falta limpieza a la habitación. Avise que no me funcionaba el aire y nadie hizo nada hasta que llego una niña que hace una pasantía por sus estudios y me lo arreglo. Mientras tanto la niña que está a la mañana todo lo que le pedí como por ejemplo el cambio de habitación porque no funcionaba el aire, me dijo que no podía realizar el cambio. De todos los selinas que conocí. La peor experiencia es la de Playa del Carmen.

El lugar esta realmente lindo! Es un lugar que me hizo sentir en casa. Los eventos y ubicación son perfectos! Me gustó mucho. Sin embargo tuve ciertas necesidades en mi estancia y al acercarme a l@s chic@s que trabajan ahi para pedir apoyo fueron muy amables pero no solucionaron mis problemas. Los focos de las lamparitas (que están super coquetas) estaban fundidos casi todos 😕. Las regaderas no tienen suficiente presion 😕. Por lo demás esta super!
