Grand Naniloa Hotel Hilo - a Doubletree by Hilton
10/10 Excellent
"This hotel is right on the beach and caters to tourists. It is very clean and the room was very comfortable."

Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham
4/10 Poor
"I thought it was good that the hotel was near the airport. The hotel generally looked old and dingy, parking spaces are too small, tile trim falling off, shower curtain didn’t extend the length of the shower, the complimentary soap next to the sink was hard to wash off, the lanai furniture was old and felt dirty. We were located on the beach side 4th floor of the hotel and it was unappealing to see the roof below with the paint peeling. I understand that your hotel was sold out on the day we arrived and I’m not sure if the demand determines the price per night, but at $355 per night, I’ll probably go to an Airbnb next time."

"This rental is ,by far, the best well equipped rental that we have ever rented in the last 30 years. There is nothing that we did not have or want. The location is top notch and beautiful. Huge grounds with plenty of fruit and coconut trees. Flowers are abundant, and the setting is gorgeous .The inside is equipped with two tv's and video player along with cd movies. The beds are absolutely comfortable, especially for one with multiple back surgeries. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, glass ware and utensils. Cupboards and drawers contain everything from soup to nuts including super glue and bug spray. The outside garage storage is where you will find beach accessories, snorkeling equipment and more.On the front porch are a couple of hammocks, chairs, tables and a gas BBQ. Off one of the bedrooms is another covered porch with chairs and table. This is also the resting place of Mango, the cat. What a character she is. very loving, independent and smart. Not quite sure where she normally lives but there is a good supply of food for her at the house in the back garage/covered area. There is also , in that area, a washer and dryer. Both work great. The house is absolutely clean and there are plenty of towels, etc.House is easy to find if you remember: From Hilo to hwy 11 S. Turn East on 130. Go about 1/2 mi past 13 mile marker and turn left into Leilani Estates. The road the place is on is about a mile East down Leilani ave, on the right. Then two houses down on right."

"Jeff was a kind host, The land was absolutely Beautiful, fully equipped kitchen, nice rooms though Eye stayed in the tent which Eye enjoyed. It gets pretty hot and there during the day and very cool at night. Less than a minute drive from my favorite clothing optional beach. Eye really enjoyed my stay. The hot tub was nice, the bath tub was lovely and the outside showers. The only issue Eye saw was that the inside shower curtain had quite a bit of mold on it but besides that everything was great. One of my favorite stays ever. They also had the sweetest cat ili ’ili. The photos of the place do not do it justice."

"We really enjoyed staying at this property. You could hear the ocean from the porch and the coqui frogs sound beautiful at night. There are little gecko's on the porch which was so much fun. The property is located in a great place where you can get to major tourist attraction without having to travel to far by car. There is a grocery store less than 10 minutes away and the bigger town Hilo is only about 30 minutes where there is lots of shopping and dining. The house itself has what it needs. The beds are super comfy which was nice. We did wish there was a little bit more outdoor furniture as we sat outside every night but we just got one of the folding chairs out of the shed and that worked for us. If you are looking for quiet but still close to things, this is the place"
