10/10 Excellent

"Lovely B&B in a small village. Room was very clean. Owners were lovely, I only really got to see them at breakfast but they ensured I was seen to. Fridge in the downstairs area with complimentary water and fresh juices which I thought was a nice touch. Breakfast was lovely too, you pick a hot breakfast from a set menu, but cereal, porridge and fruit are also available for you to add to your meal. The only downside was the restaurant linked to the B&B was closed, but I was notified before I arrived so had time to plan. There is a pub directly opposite the hotel so that was an alternative. Would also be nice if there was a welcome pack in each room with details such as WiFi. I had to ask one of the guests for the WiFi details."

"Parking is great. Pool small but warm…only available 1 hour in the morning to guests. Staff are miserable…rooms badly need updating, toilets are black in places, need bleaching, the hotel feels like a pub as you walk into a bar with wit tv screens blaring sporting events. This is definitely not a luxury Marriott but ok for a night before London if you want to drive and catch the train into Victoria. A room facing the race course is pleasant but the rooms just look scruffy and it all needs refurbishment, it’s tired. As are the staff. "

"Fabulous night’s stay. Refurbished rooms with coffee maker, complimentary gin and full selection of toiletries. Had evening meal in the restaurant, a really interesting menu and good sized portions. Included breakfast was fabulous, buffet and cooked. Lovely staff, particularly Lucy who was helpful, efficient and friendly."

"Communication about flat location was confusing so we needed to phone for advice. Inside the property was neat and comfortable, but not as clean as we’d have liked. Milk sachets in fridge over a year out of date! Smart TV couldn’t just be turned on to reach BBC/ITV etc, and no TV instructions available inside property."
