Super clean and very friendly staff. Walking distance from Rideau Hall and Parliament buildings. A lot of restaurants nearby, and an awesome little movie theatre just up the street. Very close to Byward market. Quite a few street people, but it doesn’t feel unsafe.

It is a great value for a hotel in the middle of downtown. It is clean, the staff is friendly, amenities are available, many restaurants steps away, convenience stores and groceries nearby. The plus value for this hotel is the free parking. Many reviews mentioned bedbugs, which we fortunately did not experience. There seems to be long term customers staying here but that does not bother us. We have a room upstairs, facing the parking lot, which is quiet. The packed breakfast is ok — still need to supplement with something else. The unhoused are indeed around the area: coming from downtown Toronto it is not something too surprising The hotel has a 90s motel vibe which is endearing, although the furnishings may need a revamp. It is a good no frills hotel overall.

Very good location so we were able to walk to Parliament Hill without bringing the car (22 min walk one way). There was free parking in the inner courtyard. Very near restaurants and shops along Rideau Street.The room was clean with toiletries provided, the queen beds were comfy and there was a microwave oven and a small fridge for heating & storing food. However, we had to ask for more towels at check-in since there were only 2 sets in the room for our party of 4. These were brought by housekeeping immediately. Breakfast was bagged (yogourt, juice box, muffin) with coffee or tea for pick-up at reception. Hotel Staff very polite and helpful. There was no internet or maybe we forgot to ask for it. The walls were not so soundproofed so we could hear voices from the other room(s) if the volume were really loud. It was a very basic hotel; good for just sleeping in. We were given additional bagged breakfast for snacks on our early drive back to Toronto.
