The property was well located for the Tongariro Crossing shuttles, and good information was provided about local facilities. It was a shame that my own stay wasn’t a positive one - I spent one morning chasing a mouse around the room and was told there wasn’t anything they could do. Any aerosols used set off an alarm that woke everyone up at 6am. I feel like I massively overpaid for what felt more like a hostel experience.

Thank you for your feed back. We are a rural property with winter knocking on the door. Its great that you told us about the mouse - I suspect he is trying to find somewhere warm. Aerosols and Fire alarms its a shame the aerosols set the alarms off, glad it was a can of deodorant and everyone is safe and sound

We booked a room in the lodge, and we rather disappointed in the room. The listing and the description did not match the room. The Expedia listing stated room was double with single (although the bed was listed as queen, it was not). The "single" was a bunk bed, and it made the room extremely cramped - and hard to move around. The listing should be more accurate, and clearly state that the rooms in the lodge share a bathroom at the end of the hall. The room was clean and well kept, but very cramped. Another room we saw in the lodge had only one bed and that configuration would be much better than the one we booked.

This is a hikers/skiers place — very basic but great location and reasonable price. We had a 2-bedroom unit— queen in one, two singles in other. Small living space included a good little kitchen. Right in the heart of the village so good access to everything. Beds were pretty soft, but passable. We’d stay there again given the great access. Pretty clean and pretty quiet.

Great feedback and thank you. We have been and still are investing in the two bedroom apartments. New appliances- Oven/stove/ Dishwasher, Extractors, Bedcaps, Carpet , new couches & Queen beds are on the way. Investing in the bathroom set up also.

Can improve on hardware, but fantastic staff.
Great to have them drop us off at the train station at the end of our atay. They were also kind enough to let us check out later as our train left at 3pm. Vicky is passionate about her job and is very caring and friendly. Efficient and no fuss. The onky draw back is the the apartment we stayed has 2 levels, and going to the bathroom at night means negotiating steps which is not user friendly for the aged and the young. The heater in the sitting room is also very noisy and the sofa-bed is broken. Due to the above in-room issues, my husband didn't rest well. Otherwise it will be a five star.

Beautiful! I stayed in a king pod, it was fantastic. It was spacious, clean, had a fridge, microwave and kettle. The lady at check in was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

We choose this property as it was convenient when attempting the Tongariro crossing. We choose the shared facilities so much like a youth hostel with lots of kitchen equipment and shared bathroom. Really good to speak to other guests who had their own stories about their travels. Would stay here again as lots of other hikes around the area. The crossing was ama img as we luckily had a perfect sunny day.

Thank you, We have budget accommodation in one wing. private rooms, 2 bed room apartments fully self contained and King Studio pods. On site is a communal kitchen and lounge for self catering guest. Thank you for staying with us

Our brand new studios are 17msq and with the sofa bed it is tight. Studios have a King bed, Tea & coffee amenities, Microwave, Bathroom

The property is very cute, but the amenities are not good at all. The Wifi is not open wifi, you need a code or to pay for it, the hot tub opens late and closes early so for tourists its impossible to use 3pm to 8pm only. The kitchen is alright but doesn't even have the basics, salt, pepper and oil.

Thank you for your review. Our wifi is 10GB with two devices on it which the coupon is at reception free of charge. Our kitchen is fully stocked with utensils etc. Any perishables you need to supply your self as its a self catering Kitchen. Our Spa pool is open from 3.00pm to 8.30pm. We line the spa up with reception hours and also the cleaning process which is 9pm to 10pm and then again 9am to 10am

Great overnight stop
Arrived late after a 4.5 hour drive from Wellington to find keys and welcome note, and the room warmed and cosy. Perfect location for catching the shuttle for the Tongariro Crossing. Great services to cater for early start and provide a packed lunch at reasonable cost.

Stay was just ok. Room was ok, but the wash basin in bathroom was too small. Barely could wash hands. There was kettle to make coffee or tea, but no water bottle. In room there was no sink, so we dont expect to fill water from Bathroom. There was kettle, microwave and fridge but no toaster

Thank you for your feedback. The rooms are set up as an ensuite with the bathroom 17msq. Your workable tap for water is the bathroom like a motel room.. No water bottles but we have wine glasses/water glasses and coffee cups in the room. There is a full kitchen in the lodge for anything extra that you need to use.

Perfect getaway
Great location, cabins are awesome. Spa pool is perfect after a day on the ski fields, which are nearby. Continental breakfast is great, best I’ve had!! Staff are very friendly, with great local knowledge. I will be back!
