Parsonage Farm Stables, with stunning views down to the sea

Parsonage Farm Stables is almost 1000 years old, the hayloft of a farm that has been occupied since the time of the Domesday Book. It's ideal for walkers and dog lovers, offering easy access to all the splendours of Exmoor. Red deer often visit the garden, much to the owner's dismay, and the gentle cluck of our tame chickens creates a relaxing atmosphere throughout the year. Stunning in Summer, with beautiful gardens, and reassuringly cosy in Winter. Sometimes you're above the clouds, and the feeling is rather special. It's not surprising that Coleridge wrote Kubla Khan in this little valley; you can sense the history today.

Magical farm with literary associations
Farm is quite remote but beautifully situated 1200 feet above the Bristol Channel. Very roomy and charming. Very comfortable facilities and lovely, helpful hosts. Fresh eggs for breakfast from the friendly chickens! A bench overlooking the sea for our happy hour, wonderful walks to interesting and ancient places. Lots of wildlife - deer, pheasant, grouse, wild ponies up on the nearby moor. We'd love to return.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was ideal for us and our dogs with lots of lovely walks close by . It was very peaceful with lovely views. Parking was very easy and communication from the owner was great. The cottage was really cosy and had everything we needed . The owner was very friendly and helpful and our son enjoyed playing table tennis on the table provided in the garage when the weather wasn’t so good.

What a stunning and peaceful location
We had a fantastic holiday in this beautiful, cosy and comfortable cottage. The off the beaten track location was breathtaking and so peaceful. It was perfect for escaping, but also great for exploring wonderful Exmoor and beyond. Jeremy and Paivi were also wonderful hosts, and our schnauzer Rubie loved meeting their resident schnauzers too! We had such a fantastic holiday, one of our best!

Parsonage Farm Stables
Fantastic cottage. Very high standard for everything. Jeremy and Paivi very welcoming. Welcome/ information pack really comprehensive especially if you were new to the area. Fantastic spot for the dogs too being able to walk from the doorstep and safe enclosed garden. If want a quiet secluded slight Y out of the way cottage then would highly recommend. Great base for Exmoor but still close to the local shops should you need anything. Definitely want to return as do the dogs!!

Idyllic stay with fantastic hosts!
We absolutely loved our stay in Parsonage Farm Stables....it's tucked out of the way, about a mile and a half from the A39. It is so peaceful - all you hear is the sounds of the breeze, sheep, cows, birds and the twilight barking between Wilf and Dylan and the Ash Farm dogs. The cottage itself is bigger than it looks on the photo's and is really well appointed. Jeremy and Paivi have tried to think of everything that you will need. We had lots of adventures in the two weeks that we visited.... exploring the beautiful Exmoor - meeting the ponies, red deer and even highland cattle on our travels. We were staying with our children, who are 12 and 8, and they loved spending time in the cottage, exploring the Wild garden and beyond and having table tennis battles! There are so many lovely places to visit depending on your requirements......our proto teen loved the arcades in Minehead, our 8 year old loved hunting the Exmoor beast down at the Exmoor Zoo, along with paddling and fishing in Withypool and Watchet. My husband braved the funicular railway in Lynton and Lynmouth... Jeremey and Paivi have produced a brilliant welcome book which lets you know about the cottage and the area and are great at giving recommendations about the local area. If you are looking for somewhere tranquil with an amazing view and yet within driving distance of lots of lovely things to do, then Parsonage Farm is for you!
