"Nice budget hotel in the heart of San Fran. Clean, basic and well-furnished room. Convenient to Union Square and other areas. Just be mindful of vagrants and definitely park in a safe garage. "

Millbrae is about half hour from SF city with transportation nearby should you go and explore the city. It has a lot of restaurants nearby to eat. Small downtown and great to see on foot.

We lived in Millbrae for over 25 years. It's growing a lot and has become a lot busier! It does have a lot to offer as far as businesses. It was nice to go to Trader Joe's and a few other local businesses there to do a little local shopping.

The walk from Millbrae station to the hotel requires crossing a couple on and off ramps (designated pedestrian crosswalks) to route 101. Drivers mostly stopped - just be careful. Wouldn't attempt at night.

It's really easy to get from airport to SF or Oakland etc via BART. Millbrae isn't anything to write home about but I felt reasonably safe walking around at night, bearing in mind that any city can have dangers and best to be street smart anywhere.
