We loved staying in one of Hotel Roosevelt’s nearby apartments with rooftop. Beautiful space, bedroom, separate living/dining area and 5 star bathroom with large tub. Breakfast was delicious and very reasonably. Easy walking distance to everything in Middelburg. Thank you for the very lovely stay!

Broken Aircon
First world problems, I know - in the September ‘23 heat wave we were hot and bothered to find that the “aircon’ in the room was a unit that didn’t work, and piped hot air around the room - not only that, we were on the ground floor and to have the pipe exit the room meant leaving the door to the terrace open for anyone to be able to enter our room if they had access to the hotel. We raised concerns with the staff and they were very nice and said it would be looked into, however there was no change in the 2 (almost unbearable) nights we spent here, other than to provide us with a fan (which also moved the hot air around).

Dank voor uw review.U had een kamer zonder airconditioning geboekt. Van onze 40 kamers en appartementen zijn er 12 zonder vaste airco-installatie en 28 met. In deze kamers zetten we in de zomer een mobiele airco neer. Ook in uw kamer. U vond dit echter niet voldoende, wat in een hittegolf kan. Wij zijn u tegemoet gekomen door nog een ventilator bij te voegen.Jammer dat u ons hierom deze review geeft, terwijl u beter een kamer met airconditioning had kunnen reserveren.

The good: Comfortable bed, good shower, central location, friendly staff, good breakfast. The bad: Parking is remote, shower door noisy when opened, you got to lug your own luggage up the stairs (no elevator), signs of leakage and mold on the ceiling, noisy church bell close by.

Nicely decorated hotel. Location heart of Middelburg center. Breakfast served at the table, was nice. We had a duplex room, nice for a change but personally we found it less handy with a stairs in the room.

Stayed in the Azur apartment, located in a separate building. Well equipped with a nice deck. Comfy bed and good Wi-Fi. Excellent and ample breakfast, enough for lunch too. Served outdoors when weather permits. Good for bikers with secure parking in the garden and public bike parking right in front. Location perfect for shopping. A few minor issues such as soap/shampoo dispensers empty for two days, but overall a very good value hotel. P.S. Mr Roosevelt, hope you can enjoy a vacation soon, it will be well deserved.

This beautifully situated hotel used to be an office building, and it's a lovely hotel! Our train had a small accident so we arrived late. The owner waited up for us together with his two sweet dogs. Our room was beautiful, and breakfast the next morning felt like high tea! We enjoyed our experience at The Roosevelt.

This Hotel was about the most unique we have ever stayed in. It could be a little challenging for seniors, but we had a choice of rooms. The dining room was exceptional, and overall the Hotel very accommodating. Highly recommend.

Super locatie, heel mooi hotel en mooie kamers. Ik kon toch voor de deur parkeren (2,80 per uur en om de 2 uur opnieuw via parkeer app het aanzetten). Heerlijk ontbijt, vriendelijke mensen, etc. Ik hoop een keer terug te komen.

Charming Place
Everything was really great – very nicely appointed room, spacious, quiet, and the breakfast in the morning was great. The only improvement I would add is brighter lighting in the Azure room where I stayed. The walls are painted dark blue and the doors black, and there is not a great deal of natural light. There are some ceiling spotlights, but no bright lamps to fill up the space – it would really improve the feel and comfort of the room.

The location is perfect; the customer friendliness is less. At check out no question how the stay was, at breakfast a very rigid covid schedule which did not make sense.

Beautiful hotel in centre of Middelburg
Beautiful hotel in a historic building in the centre of Middelburg. Hotel is clean, staff are very friendy and the breakfast is great. Free overnight parking is available outside until 8am. As this is a historic conversion there are steep stairs which will not suit everyone.

The hotel is in a very convenient location and the staff are friendly and helpful. What lets the property down is that the room I had on the ground floor was very close to the bar area and on the Friday night I was disturbed by singing. Also, the plumbing from the room above came through the room causing loud banging sounds every time the lavatory above was used. Also, on the Friday evening the staff informed me that there was no food being served so I had to search for a location elsewhere.

Cons:The first night was absolute hell, no ac, no tv, incesstant racket from avent below the widow. DO NOT BOOK ROOM 11. Pros: Now for the good....on a word EVERYHING. Once we moved rooms, it was simply the BEST. Staff were incredible, breakfast absolutely delicious, location perfect, room impeccable. We will defiantly be back 😁😁😁😁

Perfect city hotel
I had an excellent stay although my room was a duplex (bed up quite steep stairs) which would not suit everybody. The building was charming, but obviously this can lead to this unusual layout. A very central location, ideal for walking around the city, however the public car park was about a 5 minute walk.

Beautiful hotel but horrible problem with service.
First of all let me say that the front desk staff at this lovely hotel is friendly and helpful, but their helpfulness is what got us in trouble and cost us more than $100. When I contacted the hotel later about the problem, the man who answered the call refused to talk to me and hung up on me without letting me explain. Here's what happened: -We parked at an unmarked space to check in. While at the reception desk, the receptionist and I noticed that a policeman was placing a ticket on our car. She suggested that we run out and stop him. -My husband immediately went outside to explain that we were parked temporarily to check in, but the policeman said he must give the ticket. My husband took it inside and asked the receptionist where we should go to pay it. -She told us not to worry and explained that the hotel would take care of it if we would give it to the manager, who was sitting in the lobby at the time. We did so. -- At this point, we could no longer pay for the ticket because we did not have it. We said "Thank you" and forgot about it. -When our VISA bill arrived, there was an additional $104.49 charge from Enterprise Car Rental, who eventually got the ticket from Middelburg with a non-payment fine. Enterprise passed this on to us with an additional fine. The hotel did not reply to my emails about this problem, and when I call and tried to explain, the man who answered would not listen to my explanation. He yelled at me and hung up on me.

We are sorry for the parking ticket you get on the street. When it happened we explained to you the hotel can not be responsible for parking your car on the street. It is always your responsibility. We tried to help you, but the parking ticket could not be cancelled... We told you this at the time it happened and also on the telephone to you and to the travel agency who called us a few months afterwards. We didn't yell and did not hang up the phone...

A nice boutique hotel, I have stayed here several times. It is clean and tidy with a variety of rooms and has very good AV systems in the room allowing "mirroring" of iPads etc so you can watch your own content on the TV

When you sleep in hotels frequently it's nice to stay somewhere different. Being a lover of English breakfast it was nice to have something different also and I don't mean the usual continental breakfast this was really good! Served with consideration and a personal touch. There is no evening meal but there are plenty of places around the town to eat. The staff were good, two of which were the owners but even the other staff give you the impression that they owned it too. I will stay here again.

Lovely new hotel right in the middle of Middelburg
The owner and staff are very personable. This is a far from a chain hotel as possible! A brand new hotel located directly across from the main church and old abbey in the center of Middelburg.

Boutique hotel in Middelburg town centre
A nice boutique hotel. Actually some heritage offices converted into a hotel quite recently. I got a warm welcome from the lady at the reception. She was friendly and was running the coffee shop / bar below the hotel. I was to drive early next morning to Amsterdam and she ensured that I got a bag of breakfast to take away. My room was large, As it had been an office earlier the room hadn't got a toilet designed in it. So interestingly a toilet closure had been fitted into the room quite recently. A rectangular box with a shower on one side and a loo on the other. But it is very tastefully done. Classy furniture... really old and beautiful building. The hotel is excellent and I will visit again ... perhaps next time with the family.

Ein schönes Hotel im historischen Zentrum von Middelburg, dennoch sehr ruhig. Die Fußgängerzone und viele schöne Lokale mit Außenbereichen gleich um die Ecke. Das Ein- und Auschecken war problemlos, alle Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sehr entspannt war das Frühstück, das am Tisch serviert wurde. Das Dreibettzimmer für 2 Erwachsene und ein Kind war komfortabel, gemütlich und sehr sauber. Ein kleines Manko war der fehlende Schrank, offene Regale sind Geschmackssache.. Geparkt wurde im zentralen Parkhaus am Fluss, zu Fuß in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und würden dieses Hotel noch einmal wählen.

Erg mooi hotel met ruime en schone kamers, een simpele maar relaxte spa enmet kwaliteit eten en drinken. Wel was de service in het restaurant zowel bij het diner als bij het ontbijt, enorm traag.
