The staff were very nice, there was work going on in the hotel so it wasn’t the tidiest or cleanest; most of it was avoidable.
The beds were awful; very uncomfortable and the bathroom needed updating as the shower tray was chipped and marked all over and it made it look dirty. The toilet seat also needed tightening etc. The room wasn’t hoovered/ mopped properly from previous guests or while we were there, they just made the beds and put in fresh towels, but there wasn’t a sign to put on the door if you didn’t want it done. I know you can tell them at reception, but it’s just the smaller details they maybe need to improve on.
The WiFi wasn’t great, a bit temperamental especially if on O2! You couldn’t watch much tv as it wasn’t tuned in correctly and you couldn’t watch all the normal terrestrial channels, so limited. Netflix was there, but you couldn’t get on to it. I know tv isn’t the most important thing, but if there’s one there it should work properly.
We went to that hotel as it seemed to be a reasonable price for the area and for the convenience of getting to the places we wanted to go. However, in reality, there were lots of little areas that needed attention, which combined made it quite disappointing, but could easily be fixed. We enjoyed our trip, but after long days exploring we needed a bit of comfort and proper sleep :(
