"We were a group and took four rooms; two of the four were without problem, and the other two had issues. Overall, however, the trip was great. We had a couple of nights and spent evenings in the bar; the food was disappointing, late, and cold, but the ambience was buzzing. We ate in Ambleside the night after; can recommend the Indian."

"We loved our stay at Victorian house. Would definitely consider staying again if we return to the Lake District. Staff were really friendly. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel was beautifully decorated. Our little dog also enjoyed her holiday, mainly because of the sausages at breakfast! The Cake available in reception was a lovely touch."

"generously given free room upgrade with excellent views over the lake. managed to get a parking space on each occasion required. only slight drawback was the speed of service for the evening meal. the staff were very good but there was a long wait between each course"

"At the fringes of the town, so it’s quieter. There is no lifts at Lakehouse so please ensure you get the ground floor if you have difficulty climbing stairs, especially with big luggage."
