We had a fantastic stay at Black Bear Lodge. The lodge is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning wooden interior that gives it a real mountain lodge feel. It was incredibly peaceful and the perfect place to relax and unwind. The location was ideal too, tucked away in a quiet setting but only a short drive from local shops, restaurants and other amenities. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The room was clean and cozy. We visited in summer months so we did not need the fireplace but it did make the room feel very cozy - we enjoyed the cookies at check in as well as the coffee and tea bar in the room. The bathroom was nice and roomy and the property was well maintained. Will stay again when in Tahoe

We had a wonderful stay at Black Bear Lodge. The property was very clean, the area was quiet, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The gentleman at check-in was very friendly and welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a nicer room at no additional cost, which made our stay even better. The only minor issues we experienced were that the hair conditioner dispenser was not working after shampooing, and the sink in the bedroom bathroom was draining very slowly. Other than those small things, everything was great. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again!

Excellent hotel with a location that is off the highway in a quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. Easy parking and driving to nearby attractions. Stayed in the duplex cabin, which was very spacious for a long, Memorial Day weekend; great kitchen, sitting area, and fireplace. Hot tub is ok. Hotel is very comfortable; lots of decorative touches. Will definitely stay again. (Our neighbors in the adjoining part of the duplex were noisy. Please don't invite them back!!)

Black Bear Lodge was such a nice surprise! The rooms and decor are tasteful and very comfortable, and the true test is the quality linens and towels and extra pillows without asking. The grounds show personal touches like flower beds, raised planters, terraced areas with multiple seating options, and best of all is the total peace and quiet. You are close to South Shore if that is your thing, and skiing at Heavenly in winter is right up the road—you can see Gun Barrel from your room. The staff are kind, helpful to an excess, and super friendly—they truly make you feel welcome and valued. We did not want to leave, but will be back for certain.
