"As other travelers have noted, this is a great overnighter place to stay. Humble, spotless, quiet, safe (solo female traveler). It's a lake view, from across Hwy 178, so don't expect you are walking distance to the lake, or anything really. Grateful these kinds of places still exist. "I loved the old fashioned antiques. I loved the fireplace! It was an old property but I liked how they made it so cozy & warm. We were very comfy but the bed was super old & my back ached. "Minutes from shopping and restaurants in kernville and secluded enough to enjoy the silence. The cedar hot tub over looking the horse pasture was fun. The place was well stocked with everything we needed and the host was very responsive. With family living close by we will be staying again."

"This place has a nice charm! It’s older and my room, although cute and rustic, smelled a bit moldy. The room was big, the bed was comfy and there was a lot of options for coffee and tee in your room! The hotel staff was incredibly nice and were able to extend our stay, just by asking. There were plenty of free snacks at the office which we were offered for free, from microwaved popcorn to candies, cookies and crackers. Gorgeous 😍. 20 minutes up the road is Alta sierra, a ski slope. 2 hours from there is the trail of 100 giants. Great location. Wood interior of the house is beautiful. "-Very unsafe feeling when you first arrive, you will pass by neighboring properties with lots of junk piles in the yards...think movie "Wrong turn" -Surroundings are very unmaintained with lots of tall dry brush weeds -There were snakes near the covered patio, we couldnt even use the area which happened to be the highlight of why we chose this house"
