Bed and Breakfast in La Croix-en-Touraine

"We enjoyed the spaciousness of our suite - very unusual in Europe. We got a lot of space for our money. There were a few details that needed attending to, such as not quite enough light when the drapes were drawn, and old chairs that were uncomfortable (but there were a couple that were comfortable), but it was possible to block out early morning light, and this is an important feature when you want to sleep in. The bed was huge and comfortable. My husband used the sofa bed in the sitting room, and it did not quite work, but it was comfortable when he put the mattress on the floor! Do not be put off by whatever construction is slowly happening in the foyer, and the resulting peculiar approach to the lift. This looks as if it is temporary. While the Grand may not have on overall luxurious atmosphere as it likely had in its early years, it WAS very good value. We used the train a lot to go up and down the Loire Valley, and the location was excellent for that. The area around the station felt safe, so no need to be put off by the proximity to the station."

"A little hard to find but is a treasure! Parking in back and very nice gardens and pool although it was raining the whole time of our stay so couldn’t enjoy. Staff was incredibly friendly, helpful especially Greg. Our room was spacious, clean with courtyard view and all amenities. Dinner at restaurant was totally worth it! Great food, ambiance and presentation. Would highly recommend this place!"

"Stunning and luxurious château . The staff were cheerful and welcoming, dignified and professional without being stiff. The food was fabulous but it would have been nice to have a few more options at dinner especially if were staying more than two nights."

Close to supermarket, fuel and choice of eateries. Small grocery shop in hotel with meal options and microwave. Staff on duty 24/7 and very pleasant. Recommended"
