Jacksonville Beach Hotels & Resorts

I loved this hotel, it was our first time to Amelia Island. We have two small kids, ages 5 and 2. Everyone had a blast. Property is awesome. As always the customer service at a Ritz Carlton is above and beyond. The location is great, short drive or uber ride in to downtown. Beach feels secluded. I gave the hotel 5 stars, but there is a couple of things that I thought could be improved or changed. First, as expected there was a resort fee, but there was an additional charge for umbrellas on the beach. Chairs were free, but umbrellas were $25. To me, this was kind of nickel and diming. I mean, the hotel is $400+ a night and already has a resort fee. If you're on the beach, you want an umbrella. Just include the umbrellas! The second thing was the quality of the chairs on the beach. These are definitely not up to Ritz standards. Picture the white chairs that have the plastic straps that go across with space in between each, that should have a pad, but in this case don't have a pad. I have stayed at cheaper hotels with much nicer chairs. Sounds like it's not that big of a deal but when you are on a beach vacation you spend a lot of time in those chairs. But if those two things were improved this hotel would be that much better.

We stayed at the Tennis Villas and loved having the smaller pool right in our area. It was great for the kids. Next time we might opt for the ocean front for the view. It would be closer to the big pool and the beach. We had a great time and the resort is wonderful!

Very nice hotel right on the beach with excellent staff.

This is a nice small hotel built in an old seaside style. (Despite some info online it was not built in the 1890's.) The staff for the most part is very friendly and accommodating. The room is comfortable and well-appointed although another chair as well as a desk space would be nice. There is a cozy 'living room' area where wine and hors d'oeuvres are served at 5:30. Breakfast was OK but we've had much nicer breakfasts with much less expensive accommodations.

The room was very nice, comfortable and clean. I would definitely stay here again. My only complaint is that we were charged with a $25 resort fee for our one night stay. This was on top of the room charge and taxes that were estimated when we booked the hotel. The $25 charge was not disclosed through Expedia. The property is beautiful, and I'm sure there were many amenities that come with that fee. However, we only needed a room for the night. If we were staying for a vacation, it would have been worth the extra charge, but for an overnight, I would haven chosen a different location had I known.

Great beach location. Wonderful friendly staff all around from front desk to maintenance. Dinning area very clean and nicely arranged. Hallways were clean and free of stains. No overpowering air freshener smells. The room was nicely arranged, clean with a decent view of the beach. The pool was wonderful. Heated too. Very kid friendly place

We had ants in our bed and had to change rooms at 4 am in the morning the front desk was super polite and looked after us well .The second room we was moved too was a budget looking place dirty and more ants but only in the shower

Nice hotel staff and very clean. Great location right on the beach. There is food onsite but pricey. Lots of local shops and food nearby. Parking was limited but they also have the use of the lot across the street. My only complaint was we could hear the people next door talking and the people above us moving some furniture around! Would defenitly stay again but request a room without neighbors if possible!

Great staff, delicious breakfasts and close to all the action.

It was okay, they are in the middle of construction which is fine and understandable. However, my shower had not been cleaned from the prior guest and that was not a pleasant oversight.
