"The room was pretty dirty and extremely old. Curtains didn’t close all the way. Stains all over the ceilings and walls. It smelled like wet dog. But the bed was pretty comfortable. We were afraid to touch anything. Took the dirty comforters off and just put them in the corner. Anyway, it served its purpose for a few hours sleep. And it was very cheap so what did I expect, right? Oh, the barking dogs we could hear all night long were an added bonus..not!! Bring slippers so your feet don’t touch the damp carpet! "

The kitchen is brand new and beautiful but there are no pots, dishes, cutlery or serving pieces in the cabinets or drawers. "The location, food, bar, beach and the entire staff make the Beachcomber an excellent property choice! I think of it as a small, intimate cruise ship as opposed to a mega size cruise ship. I like the former. Yes, it is not all shining and new but it is so comfortable and welcoming. It was relaxing without effort. Saturday night we went to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and as soon as I got out of the Lyft, I wanted to go back to the Beachcomber. One drink and an appetizer and we headed back. You can tell the Beachcomber is family owned and operated. And they are doing a great job. Definitely plan to go back. "
