Carberry Tower Mansion House and Estate
8/10 Good
"The place is beautiful, and our room was very good. The biggest issue was that Uber or Bolt does not pick up there. And we had to ask the hotel to call a taxi, which was really expensive (3x Uber). From Edinburgh center, ~£20 Uber and £50 taxi. Or you can go to the nearest train station for ~£15. The other issue was that there is no phone coverage in the hotel and very weak connection outside."

"No reception desk so had to wander about until we got key from behind the bar which doubles up as reception. On leaving you put your key in a box outside the bedrooms and you don't aee anyone. Check out is 10am which is very unusual. Food was good. Quiz night (Thursday) noisy until 11pm."

"Our stay at Melville Castle was everything I’d hoped for and more. We felt in awe and humbled by its grandeur and history. Strolling around the beautiful grounds added to the experience. This was a stay we will never forget."
