We truly enjoyed our stay! The perfect mix of luxury and history. All of the food was fresh and delicious. Staff was super helpful. We would gladly visit again!
One of the best accommodations I've ever stayed at, the staff were polite and helpful with every request/question I had. Will definitely visit again when I'm in Scotland.
We were upgraded to a room in the castle, which I would highly recommend. Our son loved the cozy cubby bed, complete with its own light and window, and a curtain he could pull for privacy. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent—one of the best meals of our trip—and the restaurant staff were friendly and attentive.
This was a magical experience! From the room to the food to the wine, everything was wonderful! There was so much to do. We enjoyed seeing the Falcons, the ruins, and the babbling brook. The staff treated us so wonderfully. I can't say enough. We loved our stay.
The experience at Dalhousie Castle was truly unforgettable. The dining options were impeccable, with every dish crafted to perfection. The suite I stayed in was beyond words, with breathtaking views and luxurious amenities. And the staff went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and memorable. It was truly a dream come true.
This is a beautiful property and just amazing amenities, grounds, room and beautiful cozy bed. Feels very special to be there and the library and other common areas are also fabulous. Small issue with not getting the room I paid for but I am seeking remedy from the Castle and Expedia and hopefully will be sorted with a partial refund. Gorgeous though.
There was a bit of a mixup at check in and it took a bit to get it sorted out. After we got to our room, which was lovely, the rest of the time was wonderful. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and the wait staff was very nice. Shout out to Ruairidh who made our dinner experience very entertaining.
Wonderful place. If you've ever wanted to stay in a castle, this is it. Great property, wonderful staff, outstanding dungeon dinner experience and beautiful grounds to walk around. I would stay here again.
The fact that it was a castle steeped in history was unique.
It would’ve been nice to have literature provided upon check in to learn about the history. We paid for a castle tour but it was cancelled. We were refunded but disappointed that we couldn’t get the history first hand. We requested info on the castle & it was provided but this should be provided at check in. Also a small gift shop with castle related merchandise would be an added touch.
The property is beautiful and well maintained. The staff were extremely helpful. Dining in all three restaurants was superb. We would definitely go back. The Falconry experience was amazing. Just be aware it is not run by the hotel but it is on or adjacent to the grounds. A two minute walk from the lobby.
The property is beautiful! The rooms are newly renovated and staff were amazingly attentive. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Whiskey selection is top-shelf (ask to see the hidden whiskey vault). Only rated 5-stars because 6-stars wasn’t an option!

Pros-
Amazing experience living in a property that's 800 plus years old. Some very fun places to explore- hidden whiskey room, library, good breakfast, lovely and eager staff. The 9 course meal really made it special for our older son's bday. The restaurant, breakfast and over all staff very very supportive, other than Sean
Cons
Didnt get room in castle, was in the cottage. Worked out better as rooms are newer and cleaner, less mold / old smelling. The folding bed had collapsed but staff immediately replaced and apologized profusely. There was plumbing issues so sewage smell, again staff was unable trying to fix it but really apologetic and Dylan even sent personalized apology mail, very thoughtful. Would recommend to anyone
The castle was absolute perfection. The staff were so helpful, attentive, and professional. The atmosphere and decor were amazing. Our stay in suite 29 is one we won’t soon forget - from the original stone walls to the copper bath tub to the beautiful linens, everything was memorable. The bar and the library were very enjoyable and relaxing. The falconry on the grounds was just fantastic. We would highly recommend this experience.
The whole experience was wonderful! My only draw was that with such a beautiful old property, that obviously wont have central air, they didnt provide a fan in the room. We kept the window open the entire time as it was unseasonably warm which resulted in some bug bites. A fan would've been lovely to combat the bugs and provide a bit of relief. The staff was lovely and the property quite opulent. I could sit in the window bench for hours hearing the birds. The dining was delicious. The falconry was an experience I would absolutely recommend! There are such beautiful wild flowers and wild raspberries on the trails as well as a lovely stream. This is a place to be tranquil and close to nature. Not a place for screen time. If you are doing a tour of Scotland this is a wonderful place to finish and relax.
Loved staying at this castle, so cute and a fun experience. The breakfast was delicious and the bar had great cocktails and friendly staff. The rooms were clean and cozy. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Gorgeous castle close to Edinburgh! So far the main areas are renovated and they are stunning. The aesthetic blends castle feel (gold mirrors, beautiful wooden buttresses, textured wallpaper) with fabulous modern touches (lighting and tiling). We stayed in suite 27 and it had luxurious touches throughout (copper bathtub, double headed shower, new tiling, beautiful new bed) mixed with remnants of the castle feel (tapestry headboard and ancient well (secured) . The bar was classy and had a wide array of wine and full bar on display. The dining room was gorgeous and we had a phenomenal dinner and breakfast. The library is a great spot to read and has a hidden whiskey room. Ask for the castle tour! So glad we stayed here!
