Had a great experience at the Greektown Hotel and Casino. Not a gambler, but chose this accommodation due to the proximity to the Joe Louis Arena and eateries. Close to the people mover, which was a wonderful form of transportation and I did like the fact that the parking was free with excellent valet service. We were on the 29th (of 30 floors) and had an amazing view of downtown Detroit and the water. Would not hesitate to stay here again!
The facilities were wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend paying extra for the club level: includes breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres.
One thing I didn't like: the hotel is STILL charging for wifi $7 per day. With this quality of hotel it should be free.
This hotel is nice but nothing overly special. It's a bit expensive but I think the price is based on location. Staff were very nice but there are no special amenities, no refrigerator or microwave available for hotel rooms. The rooms were also a bit small but clean and pleasant.

Detroit’s metro area is home to nearly six million people. Downtown Detroit has undergone extensive urban renewal in the last 15 years. The 982-acre Belle Isle Park is a popular destination. Sports are big in the Motor City. The Detroit Tigers play baseball at Comerica Park, the Detroit Lions (football) are at Ford Field, and the Detroit Red Wings (hockey) are at Joe Louis Arena.
