"The hotel was very good very clean and suitably situated for our weekend. Breakfast was excellent! The only bad point was that the swimming pool was closed all weekend and on the hottest weekend of the year and with 2 children it was a major issue! We would’ve stayed at a different hotel with a pool if we knew, the hotel should’ve emailed me before we got there to say but nothing was mentioned until I’d paid for our stay!"

"The hotel is great. A little further down from the business of the waterfront. The bar and communal areas are great. The only negative is car parking there is probably only room for 15 cars and no deals on local car parks. This added another £60 to the stay. "

"Excellent value for money , room was large, large comfy bed with TV and sofa. Mini kitchen with kettle,sink,hob,microwave and fridge. En suite bath with shower. Towels provided.I only booked for the one night but would have happily stayed a week. Yes there was the odd hair and a bit of dust in places but on the whole it was clean. Its a bit dated but wouldn't expect anything less being an old building. I'd definitely be booking again."

Also rooms can be hot - could the hotel put fans in the room? Breakfast was great , good choice and locally sourced where possible. Staff were fantastic . Would stay again ! "

Room selection should include information about these conditions, which came as a surprise. The quality of furnishings etc somewhat compensated but we needed to be vigilant not to hit our head or trip during our stay."

Fantastic Staff and beautiful hotel
"Absolutely loved the hotel. Had a loto hiccup with the room but the hotel did a great job remedying the issue and all of the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend and I have stayed at a ton of hotels and the staff at the Grand were probably some of the best I have encountered."
