Staff really friendly and we ate there in the evening and although it was fully booked they found us a table. Plenty of choice on menu and they had gluten free options which was great for us. "Me and my partner enjoyed our stay. We felt it was very good value. Friendly staff. Very clean and tidy. Room was modern and inviting. The food in the restaurant was amazing. The breakfast was good with a good variety of continental foods. We don't have a dog but I thought it was very good how this hotel catered well for people who did have dogs and the dogs were even welcomed in the restaurant whilst their owners ate breakfast. Parking was good to the rear of the building. The only negative I can say is the noise from trains going past woke me up a couple of times in the night and the mattress was a bit too firm for me so I didn't sleep that well but other than that it's an excellent place to stay. I would be happy to stay again."

Taken from Ashopton Viaduct on the A57 Snake Pass Road, nice views back towards Fairholmes Visitor Centre from which we set off on a circular 5.5 mile walk. This is just about halfway now and still a nice day, with views in all directions. Nice!
