Metro station 3 minute walk very convenient location 15 minutes into Amsterdam central, 30 minute journey from Schiphol airport. "Not impressed, certainly not a 4 star hotel or experience, young girl with thick eyeliner on the desk is very rude! Hotel is cashless wasn’t made aware of this before we got there. Swimming pool is small, cold and the surrounding floor is slippy, the rooms are odd there are no doors on the bathroom. No robes or slippers are provided. No mugs to make tea or coffee. It’s also a good 45 minute walk into the city centre. "

"Volkshotel was amazing. I stayed in a sleeper cabin which was cheap but plenty comfortable and somehow pretty quiet despite shared space right outside the door (I was there during the week so it might have been less busy). The tubs and sauna on the roof were absolutely amazing and the rooftop bar/restaurant was a total treat. The breakfast they offer was delicious and a screaming deal and the hotel is right on the metro line so despite it not being in the tourist center of the city, it is only about a 10 minute ride to Central Station. Surrounded by a more local neighborhood and beautiful parks, I had the best stay here and would recommend it to anyone traveling to the city! "
