"The pool area is tiny, sauna and steam room not working. Single room the smallest I’ve ever stayed in and the worst nights sleep. Overall I would not recommend, definitely NOT a 4 star!"
"I didn't actually stay east cliff as it was shut but I was not informed of this. A note was posted on the door that told me to go to the hotel next door. The man who checked me in seemed very overwhelmed and very little information about anything. My room was incredibly hot throughout my stay. I fed back about this numerous times but nobody cared. I couldn't sleep because it was so hot and was unable to turn the radiators down. I was advised to open the window but was on the ground floor and even though there were cables they could have been easiy cut and as a woman travelling alone I didn't want to do this. Lots of police and people hanging around near the hotel so didn't feel super staff. Really didn't enjoy this stay. It was pretty awful all round. Room very tired, spelt moldy. "
Ocean Beach Hotel and SPA Bournemouth - OCEANA COLLECTION
8/10 Good
"Our room was lovely and had a partial sea view but was in a nice quiet area of the hotel. It was small but the perfect size as there was only two of us.
I felt the staff, overall, weren't the best, however when we arrived we were greeted by the receptionist who was very welcoming and explained everything we needed to know in regards to breakfast, car parking, etc. However, a different member of staff charged us double for breakfast (it cost £22.00 and we were charged £44.00) and, when I queried this, they told me that no money had been taken out of my account. I then showed them proof of the money being taken and one member of staff took our breakfast ticket and wouldn't let us have it back. I went to Reception later in the evening and managed to get my breakfast ticket back and, after a long battle, managed to get the extra money back. We experienced a similar situation at checkout as we were issued a bill and, when I took this to Reception, I was asked how I wanted to pay. I then asked what I was being charged for, to which the receptionist looked it up and said "Don't worry about it". With that being said, however, the staff were attentive and didn't hesitate to respond to any requests - we asked for a fan at around 22:30 and they brought it up very quickly.
Breakfast in itself was good quality, but the selection was quite limited. They didn't restock any food during breakfast so we had to choose from leftovers and other than toast there were no continental options."
"We had a lovely room overlooking the beach. Huge bed, beautiful view, and the room was modern and clean. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again."
"Lovely hotel, bit dated in areas but that wasn't a problem to us.
No complaints about our room.
All the staff were very friendly.
We enjoyed our evening meals at the hotel, breakfast could be improved slightly.
Great location also an added bonus was the car park underneath the hotel."
