Peaceful Log Cabin - Just 45 Minutes From Beautiful Crater Lake!
10/10 Excellent
"Our stay was absolutely amazing. Before it even started and before i could even get the gate open, the kids poured out of the car and sprinted to the zipline! The second we parked all the moms hurried to the hammocks before the kids found them. The ax throwing was a hit as well as all the things upstairs for the kids to dig into. So many activities! We had 4 adults and kids and it fit us perfectly. Kitchen was perfect as was having the grill. We've found that our kids eat more if there is grilled food involved. The cabin was so cozy and the absolute perfect place to actually relax and be unplugged for a weekend. My wife and i enjoyed a romantic full moon lit walk on the property. We seriously could not have asked for more. You have an absolute gem of a property and we thank you so much for sharing it with us. We hope to return soon to the cabin and Crater Lake!"
"We loved this little cabin on the river! Everything was exactly as described. Very well equipped, clean and comfortable. We especially loved the deck and even saw magpies! We’d definitely rent again."
"The place was well stocked and comfortable. It was also closely located
to the Wood River Reserve which mae walks and birding pleasant. The one thing I had not researched prior was the availability of restaurants in the area so I was glad thete was a Dollar General nearby."
"Pros:
Check-in was keyless and easy. Beds were fine, kitchen was well stocked with tools for cooking. The lake views were also a draw for sure, and it was quiet.
Cons:
It was a hot day and the inside of the house was VERY warm (88 F). Despite what was advertised, there is NOT central AC. There is a small mobile Toshiba unit in the back bedroom, but it was off. When we turned it on it leaked and sprayed water everywhere (which someone knew, because there was a towel on the floor under it). No instructions were provided about what to do, and multiple calls to the manager went unanswered until almost 1 AM that night. The manager eventually texted at 10:15 the next day saying to close the windows and use the broken Toshiba. Our only other options were one fan with a taped-up cord, and a switch for a whole-house fan that didn’t work. Eventually we looked up the AC model online and found instructions for how to drain it. A hassle that had to be repeated every 3 hours day and night if it was to operate at all, but it was not capable of cooling other rooms.
There were also dead gnats and spiderwebs everywhere. They know it’s not clean and have a note on the fridge asking guests to complain directly to them since there’s no cleaning fee. But this was days/weeks of gnats, not a one-off hiccup.
It is also worth noting (though this is mentioned in the listing) that the water here is brown and sulfurous, so a water cooler is provided. "
