A very old, historic building very well preserved. Unique style.
I liked that there was free parking. And the staff that checked us in at night was specially friendly and polite. Just a cozy place. Loved that there was coffee and tea available at all hours of the day.
Room is clean and air conditioning is good. Staff is helpful and nice. Location is a walking distance to 1881 district.

Hotel is a beautiful heritage building. Lots of old pictures. The room was clean and modern with comfortable mattresses. Stepping into the hallway feels like going back in time. I would recommend staying there. No elevator though.
I stayed here back when it was still the Royal Hotel almost 30 years ago, and I can tell you, the way they have updated, upkept, and maintained this beautiful vintage place as the Richca made my recent visit much more comfortable than my last.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Liked the location in old Chilliwack, beds were really comfortable, didn't like the following: no waste basket til requested, Toilet paper holder didn't work, tv remote didnt work, not enough towels or soap, had to move lights to get a reading area, most important - tub was slippery even with mat in it, and there needs to be a hand hold for safety. lack of elevator rough, but I guess part of the charm. A coffee perc would be nice.
I didn't quite realize how fun and quirky this place was going to be but was very happy with my stay. Cute place in downtown Chilliwack, once you get in the doors you realize that it still has the original woodwork and style. Very happy with the staff and the cleanliness of the unit. We had a very good night's sleep, comfortable room.
A nice stay. Not fancy but nice change from the chains. Its a old property with long history and they have nice enough rooms. Not yet fully historic recreation but very comfortable. Staff was very nice and helpful. No elevator but staff helped us carry to our room on 2nd floor. Our room 220 did not t have a tub just a good enough shower, bed was very comfortable. The area is worth visiting with nice shops and restaurants. Lots of surface parking behind hotel.
This was a good, basic hotel in a really convenient location! The room was a good size, the beds were comfortable and the decor was charming! The building is old (heritage) so squeaky floors, quirky doors and older plumbing are to be expected! Not alot of other amenities, but it was nice to have a mini fridge and coffee maker in the room, as well as some bottled water! Parking was not an issue! Do be aware there are alot of stairs and I do not believe there was an elevator as an option! All in all, a good place to stay for a short time!
as a heritage building of course was expecting antiques, and squeaky floors, old doors, etc. however, the maintenance was terrible, staff were nice enough, but ZERO amenities available. there were no staff after hours, we were basically just left alone in the building.
room floors were not cleaned, hair in the shower. parking was not safe or comfortable for a single woman. air conditioning was not working and staff brought in a fan. the door knob to my room did not lock, had to use the deadbolt that did not fit proper or lock securely. I stuffed towels around the door frame as the door was too small for the frame and about 1.5-2" above the floor. the light shone through ALL 4 sides of the door. tv operated with a roku system but mine did not connect so had nothing to watch, and the WIFI did not work. the bed, was like sleeping on a hill, had a huge indent, and couldn't not lay flat on any surface area. again, nobody to tell as staff leave.
the location was great in a downtown busy area, so walking to restaurants was easy. but alot of unhoused and drug addicts, fighting and hanging around the door. I wont stay again
The place has character, quite old, no elevator, smells musty but in a classic way vs. decaying way. The hallways upstairs had a strong chemical cleaner smell.
The room itself was very small but adequate for my solo 2 night stay. The room and sheets were clean.
There was a TV but I had no idea what was included or what was free to watch. There was a small pod coffee maker with 2 pods and some powdered creamer and sugars, but again I had no idea if I would be charged to make them. I tried to phone the number for assistance but it went to the answering machine. I could be wrong but it seemed like there is nobody working there after a certain time.
The bathroom was clean and stocked, there were no smells coming through the shower drain. Water pressure and hot water were adequate, however the sink was very slow to drain. The toilet appeared partially clogged on first flush but seemed to clear up on the second flush. The flush handle needed to be jiggled because I noticed after a while it was draining and filling constantly.
Windows in the bedroom and bathroom offering no view whatsoever which I didn't care about. I had trouble closing the bathroom window fully. I may have been able to do so with more force but was worried about damage and noise so I left it.
The room isn't very sound proof.
In summary, this is a very no-frills room, which was fine for my needs, and the cost wasn't overly ridiculous.
The room was clean with nice amenities. The bed was comfortable. The hotel is very old but nicely renovated. Stepping in the lobby was like stepping back 100 years. Great location, close to the1881 district. There were a few strange things about the room, number one was the shower in the bedroom, right beside the bed. The shower was dated, but it worked, as long as you were able to step up into a claw bathtub. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
