"Very well appointed; wonderfully kind, helpful staff, second to none. Excellent breakfasts. Several flights of stairs to any rooms, no lift. Street parking only, not ‘on-site’ as listed. We were in quieter season, so street spaces could be found. In itself, a superb hotel."

"The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, tea & coffee making facilities were good, the check in staff were very helpful. The room needed a little TLC but was ok. The leisure centre was great, we used tbe gym, steam room, sauna, ice cave, jacuzzi and swimming pool everyday. We would return and stay again"

"We stayed here as a family of 4 adults and 3 children the youngest was 18months old, and 2 dogs. A travel cot was provided so we only needed cot bedding which helped with space in the car. We hired the hot tub Monday to Friday which was also great fun for the children when we’d been out for the day The rooms were all comfortable and clean, 2 bathrooms upstairs and a downstairs toilet. The kitchen was really well equipped there was everything you could ever need. Weather was great so we didn’t need the heating on but the hot water was really hot. It was a great place to stay for getting around, our daughter took the girls to Flamingo Land and it was only around 30 minutes away, Whitby, Scarborough.Filey, Cayton Bay and lots of other places easy to get to. In the village there is a little chip shop, only open 3 days but it is truly amazing, a drive up the main road takes you to a great size supermarket that does breakfast and snacks and sandwiches etc A really great place and the company Anchor Bay Holidays give you much help and advice there is nothing they don’t know, we had a slight problem with the hot tub on the first day and within 30 minutes someone arrived and it was sorted. Would definitely use again if we were coming with the family"

"I visited here for 3 night with my grandson. The location, views, cleanliness, bedroom were excellent. Only criticism i have is that I'm 68 and our room was on the very top floor. Not the fault of anyone. I would live to stay here again."

"We booked Redwood to take my elderly parents on holiday as we required downstairs living due to mobility issues. It’s a really lovely cottage with everything needed for a self catering holiday. The site is so lovely and peaceful and beautifully maintained . Bistro Nine Eighty does super food we had an evening meal and breakfast there . It’s a great base to explore the East Coast .A few constructive points would be the step into the living area needs to be made more noticeable it’s quite high and my 85 year old father fell down it , fortunately he landed on the couch ! To the side of the step is the hearth for the wood burner , we almost tripped over this several times . Possibly paint it a different colour as it blends into the wood floor . We felt these could also be issues for children . Dining table is really wobbly when eating 😂 and the couches are very low my parents struggled getting up from them and so did I as an able bodied person .As I say this is hopefully constructive criticism and wouldn’t deter us from staying there again"

"This place is perfect for a chilled out couples getaway. Aptly named The Hygge Out, it really emboidies all that is Hygge; from the clean asthetics and peaceful location to the 'back to basics' concept, albiet luxurious with the stove and hot tub being wood fired! The owners were downright lovely. Communication beforehand was great. They gave clear instructions for how to find the location and of any extras we might be interested in. Upon arrival there were concise instructions for use of the stove, hot tub and big green egg as well as notes about the onsite shop and checkout procedure. The pod itself was cosy and nicely furnished with everything you'd need for a short stay. The bed was comfortable, and everything was clean, including the hottub and patio. Being in the middle of nowhere, or so it felt, really gave us the opportunity to completely unwind and enjoy each others company. We will 100% visit again, thank you for a lovely stay."
