When it first opened in 1976, the CN Tower was the tallest free-standing structure in the world. Superseded in subsequent years by newer record-breaking buildings, the CN Tower still retains its status as the most prominent landmark on the Toronto skyline and one of the city’s best-loved attractions.Take a ride in the glass-fronted lifts to visit the various observation decks, offering ever-changing views from the tower's different levels. The LookOut level on the 113th floor is many people’s first stop, with the high-speed lift taking just 58 seconds to get there. The Glass Floor one level down is not for the faint-hearted, offering a heart-stopping bird’s-eye view of the city streets almost 350 metres below. The outdoor SkyTerrace, meanwhile, will have you catching your breath at the spectacular views across the skyline to Lake Ontario in the distance. For an additional charge you can ride still higher to the SkyPod deck at 447 metres above street level. Twice a year the 2,579 steps to the Skypod are open for charity climbs, allowing strictly controlled access to the tallest metal staircase in the world.Another record-breaking attraction is the highest wine cellar in the world, housed in the revolving 360 Restaurant, which clocks in at 350 metres. The fine-dining menu here is an expensive luxury, though the tower’s café and bistro restaurant offer slightly cheaper alternatives. If the bill hasn't scared you enough, take a hands-free walk along the restaurant roof and see if you can spot Niagara Falls on a clear day. The EdgeWalk can be booked in advance and safety rails ensure your complete security. The CN Tower is in the entertainment district in Toronto's city centre, around a five-minute walk from the harbour and with convenient public transport links. It is open every day and evening except Christmas Day, although winter opening times are shorter. Full details are published on the official website. Reviews of CN Tower
1/5 - Terrible
The restaurant had bad service and the food was average for the money I do not recommend. The view was great.
4/5 - Good
Great day out, fantastic views to see all over Toronto. Great on a clear day! Tourist delight for everyone who visits, especially when you get the photos that are taken when you arrive.
