Our stay here felt like we were spending time with family. The staff is kind and friendly, they give you your space, the property is beautiful and the location is perfect. The rooms are quite large and the water pressure is excellent- perfect for sore muscles after walking and shopping all day. 10/10 recommend. We will definitely stay here again on future visits.

Great location 5 minute walk from museum square. Very quiet with the best of Amsterdam very walkable from the hotel. Close to public transit. The hotel was very clean and the beds and room were comfortable. Our room (we had the family room with 2 kings) was spacious and modern. Enjoyed the breakfasts - buffet style with eggs made to order. One free drink per person from their lounge with an honor bar. Would highly recommend and for sure to stay there again when back in Amsterdam.

Small but perfectly formed

Loved this little hotel. One-night stay in a very small room, but perfectly appointed and more than adequate for my needs. Quiet neighbourhood near Museumplein, complimentary drink, complimentary minibar (soft drinks, snacks), good bathroom with great toiletries and excellent shower. High standards of personal service.

The hotel is very updated and nicely kept. The staff were very kind and helpful. The room was very clean. The area around the hotel was quiet and felt safe. They offer king size beds, which was perfect for a family of four. The location was a bit out of the center of Amsterdam. But this gave you a quiet and peaceful retreat. But if you are looking for more centrally located this wouldn’t be it.

Wonderful stay. Expedia please see to it that your booking description is precise. I received a room with a bunk bed.I was alone and I booked a single room so it was not a problem as I am 5‘ 7‘‘ It would have been a problem for some one 6ft or over! Apart from that a very enjoyable and worthwhile stay.

The hotel has a nice small living room area and a courtyard where one can have drinks in the evening or breakfast. The staff is extremely helpful. The rooms are somewhat on the smaller side but have good mattress & excellent bedding. The area is next-door to many museums. Altogether a great choice.

The De Ware Jacob Hotel is a beautifully renovated early 1900 building that has been tastefully decorated and setup to make you feel at home. It is clean with everything needed. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is just a ten minute walk to the Van Gogh museum and the #12 tram that takes you to Dam Square and central station. We have already recommended it to friends!

Great location near Rijksmuseum and VanGogh Museum However there is little or no staff to help getting luggage up or down the front steps. Beds were super comfortable. Delicious breakfast. Stairs are very steep and narrow. There is an elevator. Front desk will supply a list of neighborhood restaurants. The one we tried was great.

This was a nice, small boutique hotel with an elevator! Excellent staff, great breakfast but just make sure to be at breakfast at the time you signed up for or you'll miss it. 5 minute minute walk to the tram. 8 minute walk to the Van Gogh museum. Grocery store near the museum. Nice and quiet!!

This was a gem of a hotel in the Museum district

The De Ware Jacob Boutique Hotel was a gem in the museum district. We were a group of 8 and they were able to get us in a little early to one of our rooms so that we could enjoy the city. They have a lovely lounge and patio to enjoy drinks. Maria and staff were helpful in suggesting dining and shopping areas nearby. The building is a typical narrow Amsterdam building. There are 3 steep steps to get into the entry reception area. And steep steps to get upstairs. The elevator was a little slow but it was great for my elderly parents. The neighborhood is safe and family friendly. It is about 7 minute walk to the Concertgebow tram stop which is in front of the Rijksmuseum. There are many restaurants nearby. The De Ware also serves breakfast. We did not add that on, but my relatives did and they said it was very generous and filling.

Excellent hotel. Hotel located in nice residential area in townhouse which was extensively renovated. Rooms were beautifully decorated. Bathroom was spotless with great shower. Hotel provided free drink coupons which we used one of the evenings in hotel self service bar. Bar was well stocked with great selection of drinks. Reception was super friendly with Sasha spending time explaining the hotel and providing coupons. Area has a nice market nearby with artisanal products and food. We walked to museum quarter which is approximately 10 minutes away. Center of Amsterdam is walkable too or accessible via tram. Great stay overall.

We had an excellent four night stay--four of us in one room. The room was spacious and newly renovated, top to bottom. It was quiet, clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Nice amenities (coffee, snacks, drinks) provided gratis. The air conditioning worked very well. The neighborhood was ideal--easy walking to the main tourist areas, but a pleasant, quiet respite from them. Highly recommended, we'd definitely stay here again.
