This hotel is conveniently located in a great neighborhood with nice local shops and restaurants nearby! I stayed in this same hotel back in the 80’s. Our room was the same back then perhaps now a little dated! The common areas and hallways are fresh and updated. Bottom line nice hotel would stay again !

The room was amazing , enormous, lovely views, very clean and modern Great location Fabulous helpful staff I left my cards in a drawer in the room and he drove to the airport to hand them to me Just amazing taking that extra step Will definitely be back

Arrived after paying Expedia for the hotel with taxes included then got hit with a 63 euro tax bill at reception!! No mention of this anywhere before hand so make sure you check this out before booking, on a better note hotel a lovely & would strongly recommend.

Beautiful quiet area of Amsterdam. 10 min walk from lovely local restaurants. Another 10 min and your on nice shopping streets and the busy older part.

The spa advertised on the website doesn't actually exist so thats false advertising, I wouldn't have booked this 5* hotel if it didn't have a spa in it. They charged us €120 in "tourist tax" when the rate for the area is €18 The rooms were never cleaned, just rearranged with the same bedsheets being relayed. The thermostat could be changed by 2-3 degrees and the fan sounds like a jet engine The rooms also come with a loud humming sound like you're next to a power generator which makes sleeping nearly impossible and this is in a deluxe room! A sign in the bathroom saying they don't want to replace your towels for "eco reasons" so you had to request fresh towels! Never received the slippers or bathrobes like the advert suggested. Had to refill our own coffee EVERY MORNING because the cleaners just didn't refil it. This is not a deluxe 5* hotel as advertised. This is a budget hotel that lies about amenities, with a lot of hidden charges from random taxes and fees that aren't fully explained. Save time, money, disappointment and frustration and get a better hotel. This is awful.

Not every executive room has a bath tub, this is what I learned. The room is a little bit smaller than what it looks like in the photo. Breakfast is awesome!

Good hotel, comfy bed and spacious, clean room. Had everything you’d expect from a room of this price and rating. Good location as long as you are willing to use the great transport system. Nothing really special or exceptional, but no big complaints either. Other people complaining about it are just very picky.

I liked that it was very central and close to the tram. The were nice restaurants and shops a few minutes north. This hotel is not at 5 star hotel, the bathroom was very rough around the edges, the tub/shower is very small and inconvenient. My pillow coversvhad crusty stains and had to ask twice to get them replaced. The staff was great though, very nice and friendly. The staff was the best part of the hotel.

Nice property . Clean . However Call Room service no one picks up . The 2 lifts were not working I had to carry 2 suitcases myself down 2 steps no concierge or hotel staff to do it

This is a beautiful hotel, but it was the helpful staff that made our stay truly exceptional. We were so lucky to have selected it from it's online information only- it is better in person, and we will stay there again when we return to Amsterdam.

Good location, nice hotel, antisocial music
Quiet residential location, close to Beethovenstraat shops/cafes, 10 min walk to Museumplein. Executive room was spacious with king bed, small shower room (good shower). Coffee machine should be replaced (espresso function made very long americano). Main problem was very loud music played in hotel corridors - woke me before 7am on Christmas Day and at 4am on 27 December, terrible.

I stayed here for 4 nights on Boxing Day. When booking it said I paid £95 fees and taxes and I had £23 to pay at the property. When I arrived at the property it said I had €116 to pay and when asking what this pay was for I got printed out a sheet in Dutch full of different charges that I did not understand. When asking for help with the charges I got told to contact Expedia for help, when contacting Expedia they told me to speak to the hotel about it. I went back on 3 occasions to sort it out and they didn't help, the students who didn’t have access to the system tried to help more!

Freezing room had to sleep in jumper
I have stayed at this hotel numerous times for over a decade. I won’t want to again The room was freezing and when we called down on two Separate nights no one even answered the phone despite multiple calls I slept in a jumper and socks !! The temperature had a override and was at a low threshold We were freezing all the time in the room V unpleasant experience

From exterior looks like an older hotel but it is an updated, modern hotel. Rooms and beds are cozy with two armchairs and even a waterfall shower. They also have safes, refrigerators, and had a Lavazza expresso machine. They also offer free candies and juice at the front desk all day and bowls of apples for free in the lobby and on each floor. Plus all staff was friendly and helpful. Will stay here again and look forward to sitting outside at their comfy front patio (too cold this time).

Fantastic experience - beyond expectations
Fantastic stay - we arrived really early so asked about checking in bags - but they did one better - our room was free so we got in much earlier than 3pm - well beyond expectations and really helped our day as it meant we could go out & stay out not having to come back to check in. Everything was superb - staff fantastic / facilities great and the breakfast was excellent.

Good hotel, well-placed for visiting Amsterdam
Overall the hotel was very good and we would recommend it. The location was convenient for visiting Amsterdam's attractions. It was clean and in excellent condition. We liked the nice touch of leaving out free apples for guests! However, two things made the stay less-than-perfect. The fan in the bathroom was noisy and made getting to sleep a bit of a challenge. Perhaps we should have complained about it, but we were busy doing things in Amsterdam and forgot. The other was the bill. Having paid what we thought was a reasonable amount for the stay we were surprised to find extras like a service charge and taxes. It would have been good to warn us about these additional costs in advance, especially since everything was so much more expensive in Amsterdam than in the UK. Nevertheless, we would still recommend the hotel, but suggest you ask about additional costs when you book and be ready to complain about the noisy fan if you experience it.
