Apartments in Alvarado Station

"Do NOT be fooled by the A/C listed in the amenities, it is completely useless to you as a guest. The apartment uses a centralized system controlled entirely by building management, meaning you have zero ability to adjust it yourself. When we arrived, the temperature inside was a sweltering 28°C (84°F) with the HEATING on. In the middle of summer. We had no way to turn on the A/C, no way to cool the space down, and when I complained, the host offered absolutely no solution whatsoever. This is...

"Ok, so...the property needs up-dating, a little wear and tear, the kitchen needs to be better equipped and the curtains don't quite fit. But, it was clean, comfortable enough, really secure, I mean, there are four locked doors, therefore four keys to enter apartment. The locality/neighbourhood is real Madrid, ie. not touristy. Metro is minutes away. Any staff you do meet are friendly and helpful and the Wi-Fi works."

"The host was nice and responded timely. However for the first two days of this 4 day rental we had so many issues at the property - from heating not working, to electricity tripping twice, to poor wifi, to water heating leaking, washing machine leaking and electric stove top wiring not even hooked. It felt’s like with this being a first time VRBO rental the home wasn’t ready for guests and was prematurely rented. We were the guinea pigs discovering issues and notifying them to fix one by one....

"Overall we had a pleasant experience in Madrid. The pictures on line aren't exactly what we experienced, for example it was a different lounge suite, no decorative pillows etc. The kitchen was not cleaned sufficiently and there was bread left over from the previous guests. Although ok, a little attention to detail would be better..eg. clean pillow covers, door sticks to get in - we found this out after we couldn't get back in."

"The place is very nice and clean. In a great location. Quality furnishings and comfortable. The main kitchen supplies are plentiful and quality. However, it's missing a lot of the smaller things like a cutting board, strainer, steak knives, etc, etc. Which makes it a challenge to actually cook and is disappointing for a property that commands such a high price."
