5 minute walk from Akita station, there are plenty of food options around and shopping malls nearby to do souvenir shopping.
Plenty of attractions nearby like the park opposite and the Akita Inu station behind.
The onsen on the top floor was also enjoyable, and had free dessert right outside. There's also free noodles at night for supper.
Great place to stay for day trips from Akita.
we stay at this hotel specifically because it has an onsen (hot springs) which is a very nice one and great to have on a cold winters eve. the dormy inn chain has lots of other great little perks (free ramen before bed, popsicles after the bath, etc...) and the service is wonderful. however, you should note that people with tattoos are not welcome in the bath (a rule in Japan that needs to be changed!)
Great hotel! Had a positive and very pleasant experience at this hotel. Room was nice and good facilities (onsen). Car park was easy and convenient. Close to the airport by car. Would stay again.
Gorgeous onsen in a clean hotel with perfect location in Akita walking distance to train station, shopping and tourist attractions. The staff was wonderful even though most did not speak English. The noodles and free drink at night were delicious. Would stay again.
Great hotel with onsite onsen, free use of washing machines & little cost for dryers which made this hotel family friendly & good for long trip.
Quiet & spacious room with separate toilet & bathroom, good bedding, a short walk from JR Station
Fairly small rooms like most hotels in Japan, but perfectly adequate. Reception staff limited English, but just about sufficient and both friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, but no restaurant for dinner except late evening ramen, which is free. Walking distance to train station.
Generally is good. The day of my stay, the onsen is very crowded. Didn't get to try it. About 8-10 mins walk from the station with no shelter. Staff is friendly. wifi in my room is bad.
Check In was smooth and quick. The onsen and sauna on the top floor was most welcome after a day's outing.
Breakfast, mainly Japanese style, was varied and a great start to the morning!
Will definitely return when visiting Akita again.
Excellent location across from Senshu Park and on the bus line, and a convenient few minutes walk from the west side of Akita Station. Also on the 100 Yen "tourist" bus route. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. As an American who knows some Japanese (but not enough to read a lot of text) it would have been nice to have detailed English instructions on procedures and etiquette for using the hot spring/spa. I wanted to try it wasn't confident enough to use it. But we were so busy with other activities it wasn't really an issue.
Great location, walking distance to Akita train station. Good breakfast and free noodle at night. Hot spring is at 11th floor. Luckily, we were experienced the summer festival when we stayed at this hotel. Great to see different culture. The park near the hotel is very beautiful, you can go up to the tower to oversee the city.
We were pleasantly surprised by a festival's last day parade that passed in front of the hotel. If you can't find an excellent nearby restaurant you aren't looking.
The natural hot spring onsen on the top floor is great!

Not really close to the JR train station. 8-10 mins walk
A lucky find and nice price while stopping through this city. Great introduction to a Japanese bath (onsen) attached to the hotel. Offered massage services near the onsen and complimentary ramen for the guests. Truly enjoyed our stay,
Had a great stay at the Dormy Inn Akita. The location is about a 10 minute walk away from the station so it's not directly next door but still decent; there's a covered arcade that you can take but for the last 2-3 minutes, you won't have any shelter. The room itself is comfy enough and modern. The best parts of the stay were the in-house bath on the 11th floor (felt like an onsen and was particularly nice with the snow coming down at the rotenburo) and the free ramen they offer to guests from 930-11pm. We opted out of cleaning to get a free cup noodle and also used the free washing machines on the first night. Lots of places to eat nearby and there's a 7-11 just around the corner in the back. Only downside for me was the wifi being relatively slow in the evening. Not the cheapest place in the list, but definitely worth the extra money!
About 3 mins walk from akita shinkansen. Complimentary supper provided in the form of bowls of delectable ramen. Onsen on the top floor is also complimentary with the room booking. Nice quiet environment yet near to big departmental stores and restaurants.
