"Very convenient for public transport. A short walk from Central Railway station and an even shorter walk (~50metres) to Haymarket Light rail station. Reception staff are friendly and very helpful. We arrived early to ask about leaving our luggage, and our room was already available. We were embarking on a cruise ship at Circular Quay mid afternoon and the hotel reception offered to hold our luggage so that we could sight see around Sydney during the morning. Even offered to staple our cruise tags to our luggage and gave us plastic bags to cover our luggage whilst were we getting on the cruise. Had one meal in the hotel dining room and it was very good. We highly recommend the Great Southern Hotel."
