“Cool art, cool view, would go back in a heartbeat”
This hotel hit all the right buttons. The art creates the customer delight, but underlying that is one well run establishment. The ambience is chilled out and relaxed in a warm, opulent style that juxtaposes well with the sometimes challenging Wellington weather - particularly in winter. The staff are lovely, uniformly happy in their work, which comes through in the attentive and efficient service. The room was great - we stayed in a Chaffers studio, with a harbour view - we could see Te Papa and all the ferries and ships coming and going. For that you need an even numbered room on 6th floor or above in the apartment wing - below that your view would be of the other building, and odd numbers must also look into other buildings. We loved the pillow menu, the right one can make all the difference to a good night's sleep in unusual surroundings. We also loved the espresso coffee machine, and all the little touches that make one feel welcome - in particular the two person bath, pure bliss after battling the Wellington conditions. One hint - hit the Hippopotamus Bar rather than the lobby bar ... much more convivial.
“A Hotel that is a Work of Art”
The Museum Hotel is a very good hotel. As in the name the hotel had various works of art around reception which were very interesting. The staff were very pleasent. The room we had was very nice but if you are offered room 140 or 141 be aware that it is near the hotel laundry. We were told about this on arrival but we were assured that the laundry only works during the day which was not a problem to us. What we were not aware of was that there is also guest laundry and a guest was doing her washing at 11 p.m. I had a word with the receptionist at the time but nothing was done. We stayed 3 nights and this was only a problem on one night. On checking out I mentioned about the noise of the machines late at night and they were going to check that a notice was up regarding the times of usage. This would not put us off staying there again we would just make sure that we did not stay near the laundry.
“The best hotel in Wellington”
Great location, nice and modern design, superb staff, good facilities and confortable rooms......everything I expected and more.
“BEST WELLINGTON HOTEL EVER!”
I thouroughly enjoyed the exceptional service and room. The hotel must be new and have rollers under it because when the earthquake hit in New Zealand the bottom floor didn't even realize we had earthquake. The room is very plush and the bathrooms are remarkable. The bathtub is so deep I could swam in it. The shower is also fantastic. The large showerhead felt like I wa sstanding under a waterfall. I loved the robes they provided and slippers. Evereything was so close by. There is free internet in the lobby as well as free expresso . I would definately return there..
“Wellington's best hotel!”
Our stay at the Museum Hotel was very satisfying. We stayed in a harbour view room which had a nice big balcony and an amazing view of the lovely harbour. Located only a short stroll from Cuba Street cafes and, the hotel also has a supermarket close by and is across from the Te Papa Museum. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and well trained and were very eager to assist. The decor of the hotel is luscious and rich and rooms are very comfortable. I cant wait to return to Wellington, just so i can stay there again!
“A good place to stay.”
Close to museum (makes multiple short visits easy), Cuba St, the waterfront & downtown. Free internet in lobby. A good place to stay in Wellington.
“Loved it!”
this is the only place I would stay in this city in the future. The hotel was wonderfully quirky and elegant - much better than we expected. also the room was more like a studio apartment, with kitchen and laundry and a fabluslous bathroom. Easy walk to everything the city has to offer. Staff were friendly and helpful. Loved it!
“Great location, hotel and staff!”
We have stayed at The Museum Hotel twice now and both times we have been very satisfied with our stay. The location is excellent with the beautiful harbour views from the room and the best of Wellington's cafes, bars and restaurants all within walking distance. y in walking distance. The rooms are luxurious and comfortable. The hotel has a great bar and restaurant and the lobby is also very comfortable for an afternoon coffee or evening drink. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and always smiling and the rates are very reasonable! Highly recommended, we are already looking forward to our next stay.
“Museum Hotel in Wellington”
I stayed with my family in a 2 bedroom apartment. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. There was a fully equipped kitchenette and we even had a washing machine and a dryer. The Museum Hotel is situated in the middle of the centre, near the Marina, shops, restaurants and a cinema. The hotel has a swimmingpool, spa and a gym.
“"FANTASTIC" LOOKING FOWARD TO STAYING AGAIN.”
I loved it that that much i haven't stoped talking about it to friends and family. All I can say is it is a must place to stay when your in wellington,as a couple or family and with everything so close you can't go wrong.
