Our Expedia reservation was for three guests, but the hotel's information reflected two. When the staff realized this mix up, they quickly offered us a better room...which turned out to be a two room suite upgrade.
It's right in the heart of the city with Cafe Central (an amazing and historical place for food and dessert) literally 20 feet away. You can walk anywhere. The rooms were comfortable with heated marble floors in the bathroom. We had a hard time figuring out how to make the room a little colder, the setting wouldn't go below 19.5.
We had an early flight so arrived 2 and a half hours before check in. We were welcome to sit in the lounge and were there less than an hour before our room was ready. We then asked for the feather bedding to be changed due to allergies and this was done very efficiently within 10 minutes. The room had comfortable beds, a tv, desk, minibar and plenty of space. The wardrobe was a good size with enough hangers and shelves for clothes. In room safe was very easy to use with just your key card needed to open it, no code to set. Breakfast had something for everyone and a large choice of different breads, fruits, cereals, meats, cheese, hot food, salad, jams etc. Plenty of coffee, tea and juices. Also, breakfast was served from 6.30 - 10.30 so plenty of time and very convenient. All the staff were friendly and helpful. One very slight problem was that air conditioning is only available during the summer months. We were there at the beginning of October and found our room got quite hot but we solved this by opening the window during the day.
Stopped on business, great location for the Vienna Centre. A little out of the way for the city itself, but a €20 cab ride is a small inconvenience for stopping in such a great hotel. Staff were great, room was amongst the best I've stopped in, and the food was good. Excellent views over the city from the huge windows. All in; top notch hotel.
"Modern rooms, friendly staff and value for money."
This hotel is just out of the historic centre of Vienna (within a 10-15 minute walk), situated in a quiet area containing many decent restaurants. The decor has recently been refreshed and has a modern upmarket feel to it - it definitely doesn't feel like a chain. The staff were very friendly, but not intrusive. Breakfast and wi fi were included in my room rate and extras, such as meals or mini bar, seemed reasonably priced - it didn't feel like the hotel was trying to rip you off (as it sometimes does at hotels nowadays!).
This hotel is situated across the street from a main metro station which also has an airport (CAT) train. The CAT train makes getting to/from the airport a very easy experience. Hotel is also on the boundary of a nice park and all the attractions are nearby walking or metro.
It is a nice hotel, well maintained with a beautiful lobby.
If I were returning to Vienna, this is the hotel I would stay at. It is very nice, and it is near THE transportation hub.
