Bed and Breakfast in Sasso Caveoso

"I would give the service at this place 10 stars out of 5 if I could! We arrived at some random bus stop in the bottom of town because their main station is closed for remodeling, so I didn't really know where we were when I called the shuttle. Nino just asked me the name of the street & came to get us. By the next morning, we had fallen in love with the town and changed our itinerary for the rest of the trip to spend more time in Matera, but they didn't have space for us to stay longer. They called around and found us a place at another amazing hotel. When it was time to check out, they had it all arranged to simply simply transfer our bags and pick up new keys at the other hotel. As for the hotel itself, the rooms were huge, clean and very unique. Very cool hotel in an amazing town. "

"Very authentic experience. A very old building close to the Sassi (caves). Only a small number of rooms so none of the hassle of a busy hotel. Nice roof terrace. Very good views. Spacious rooms. A decent breakfast. Not somewhere to stay if want a resort or hotel with a gym, bars, meals, pool but a really nice place to stay in Matera that has a traditional feel to it "

"This place was magical. The Spa was an amazing place, my wife and I had the best massages and treatments of our lives. The pools were wonderful. Cosimo in the restaurant was amazing. He made our dinners so much fun. The food and drinks were the best. The area and the views were so unique of a place. The staff gave us great places to eat and shop during the day. Matera is a must see destination. "

"Matera is not the easiest place to get to in first place. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to change plans and arrived by coach bus instead of rental car. The hotel contacted us a couple days before our check in and once they learned about our change if plans, they helpfully pointed out to us that our bus station is actually quite a bit of distance from the hotel. They then booked a taxi for us that waited at the bus station and took us straight into the restricted area inside the old town that saved us a lot of walking while carrying our luggages. Upon arrival, they clearly explained to us all the must sees, how to get to them and recommended food places. The room itself is just a spectacular experience. We booked the cave room for the experience and it was huge. Certainly gave us the unique experience that we were hoping for."
