"Great way to immerse yourself in typical Hanoi streetlife while enjoying comfort"
Very friendly personal service. Breakfast was a real treat, with ingredients procured locally, and made to order with minimum fuss and very tasty. Would definitely go back to this hotel if the chance arose. Hotel is in the central part of the Old Quarter, close to the action on the streets and 8 minutes walk to the Lake. A street map (given to us with the name and address of the hotel by Reception) is essential as landmarks are difficult to find. The room was clean and comfortable but old. The lift was very small, but we used the stairs most of the time (clean and safe). Only concern was the receptionist came to our room and requested our passports so she could get information from them. All legitimate, but not a good feeling being parted from our passports. We would have been happier waiting in reception while the information was retrieved. We went down to reception after about 15minutes and they were safely waiting for us.

"A total comfort !"
I booked with Dong Thanh Hotel a superior and everything was fantastic ! The check - in procedure was efficient and friendly even though there were other guests checked in simultaneously . The staff is very accommodating and professional. They recommended me some attractions around Hanoi , warning us about city's scam and even booking for me a Halong Bay trip which was awesome ! During my stay , it's a little bit cold and humid, however, I overall still enjoy my trip ! Would definitely recommend for other guests traveling to Hanoi.

"Very Pleasant Respite"
When the dirt and unpleasant smells of the city and its sewers became annoying, we ducked into our pleasant Skylark room for a break. The staff was so very kind and attentive. Breakfast included hot foods, fresh fruit, and breads (no whole grains).

"Decent Hotel"
Great staff, friendly and helpful. Room is small and cramped. Bathroom door is a sliding door with frosted windows. Great for couples, but if you're sharing with friends, you might end up seeing more than you ask for. There is a nasty sewage odor that comes from the drains in the bathroom. It seems to exist in all rooms as we stayed in two different rooms while we were there. If you are looking for a late activities, this hotel isn't for you. Everything around here closes early except for a few cafes. Most restaurants seem to close after 8 or 9pm.

"Boutique Hotel in Hanoi"
If the review was all about first impressions then this hotel would fall short on a few counts - arranged hotel pickup, the flight was slightly delayed and so when I arrived there was no driver. Interestingly all the other passengers with arranged pickup were met by the drivers of other hotels. I had to call the hotel twice and spend an extra hour waiting in the airport as a result. Arrived hotel and checked in, shown to a room which was nice but not the suite which I had booked. Shortly after hotel realised mistake and came to show me to the correct room. The room itself is beautiful, mine was a suite with balcony, spacious, comfortable, rose petals on the bed, nice bathroom facilities and some fresh fruit laid out. Later I went to ask reception about sightseeing tours to Halong Bay and Hanoi and was pointed to an empty desk, so couldn't book any for the next day (this turned out to be the best because the weather was not nice but on the following day when I did go to Halong Bay the weather was much improved). The second day I explored Hanoi by myself. I came back and there was no longer any toilet paper (there had been plenty when I left the room)... well the small things sometimes add up...obviously the hotel has room to improve on its service.. So this aside the hotel itself in terms of the quality of room is very good and were it not for the service issues I would rate it higher. The breakfast had plenty of options. Location is kind of hidden in a back street but ok.

"Cannot Wait to get back!!"
As disabled pensioners we were abit dubious about the old town locati0n of the hotel, but folks what a surprise, radiant helpful staff to greet you, nothing seems to much for them , and so it stayed for our 11 days at the hotel, for the last 5 days we were ill and not able to get around very well, the staff looked after us day and night nothing was too much for them, they are all a great credit to their employers!! could not fit it in in the next part , the staff are what makes this great little hotel easy to recommend!!
