Fraser Suites Edinburgh - Edinburgh Hotels

Fraser Suites Edinburgh

Fraser Suites Edinburgh, Edinburgh - Map
Hard to beat the location -- right off the Royal Mile and within a few hundred steps of St. Giles Cathedral and a parade of street musicians, off-beat performance art buskers and a sea of fellow tourists from around the world. Walk just a block further, and the tourist traps fade for a more authentic Edinburgh experience. I asked the front desk about a ghost tour. They immediately looked it up on the internet, made the call and handed me the phone so I could book our tickets. No breakfast included, but we were a bit weary of British hotel breakfasts anyway at this point!

1 Tower Place Leith, Edinburgh - Map
"Lovely hotel in the heart of Leith"
We enjoyed our stay at the Mailmaison. Staff were so friendly and helpful, room fresh and spotless. We would definitely go back. There is plenty restaurants and bars nearby to choose from if you do not want to eat in the hotel.

Macdonald Holyrood Hotel - Edinburgh Hotels

Macdonald Holyrood Hotel

81 Holyrood Road, Edinburgh - Map
"Excellently placed for walking up Holyrood Park"
We found the hotel easily enough thanks to a very friendly bus driver on route 35 from the airport. The hotel is excellently placed for Holyrood Park, the Scottish Parliament and is within easy reach of Calton Hill. The hotel accommodation is like all McDonald Hotels, clean, comfortable, stylish. Our bed was extremely comfortable and our room lovely and quiet; just the way we like it. Breakfast at the hotel was good. The indoor pool was a good size for doing lengths. Edinburgh itself is a beautiful city and easy to get around on foot.

4 Picardy Place, Edinburgh - Map
"A pub with 4 rooms to rent."
Fiddler's Elbow is not a hotel in the normal sense of the word-- it is an old pub with 4 rooms upstairs. Our room was obviously modernized recently, but some "quaint" features remain. No AC, but the windows do open. No elevator, so get used to stairs. Also, you're upstairs from a pub that is famous for live music, so expect some noise. Given all that, we had a great time and would stay here again.

"Good location next to the Waverly Train Station"
Location good. Room very basic . Bathroom really old but always had hot water. Not much ventilation . No room safes. Wifi good. Think they are in the process of renovating which is needed.

"Right in the middle"
Very awkward to park, after the awkward drive. there are a lot of steps in and out so be ready. All that said, absolutely first rate place.

Old Waverley Hotel - Edinburgh Hotels

Old Waverley Hotel

43 Princes Street, Edinburgh - Map
"Nice hotel close to public transport"
Steps to reception but if you ring bell staff will rush to assist with luggage. Lifts to other floors. Rooms clean but a bit small. Adequate buffet breakfast in dining room. Morning we departed breakfast delivered to our room as requested 0345 hours. We walked across road to the airport bus only 20-30 minutes travel to airport. Cheaper than taxi if 4 or less in your group.

Angels Share Hotel - Edinburgh Hotels

Angels Share Hotel

7-11 Hope Street, Edinburgh - Map
" very convenient for restaurants, shops etc"
Very friendly a& helpful staff, Noise is the main problem; we had a room overlooking an alley called Hope Street Lane. House of Fraser is next door. Every morning in the early hours we were disturbed by severe noises due to unloading goods and refuge clearing. It lasted 2 hours or so. In the bathroom, not enough self space for ladies make up materials.
