Unless you have personal transportation you're marooned in an area with essentially no restaurants...not even fast food joints, no shops or entertainment venues either!!
So you're at the mercy of the hotel's cafe which is exorbitantly expensive ( $18 for breakfast ).
This location is remote and isolated, except for a plethora of other condos.
So no I would not recommend it.
Get accommodations near civilization.
Stayed at the Emerald Shores Resort in October of 2014. This was my second stay there in 4 years. Clean, spacious, reasonably priced, and upscale. Plenty of parking, great views, large balcony, and friendly staff make this a great choice.
We had two queen beds and a queen size sleeper sofa that was very comfortable as well. The pool and beach access was just what our family was looking for. We will make this hotel a yearly family retreat. I couldn't have been more satisfied.

What a great private hotel, we have never stayed at place like this before, needed extra space, so we got the 3 bedroom villa, the 2 bathrooms were helpful with 3 teens. Views were great, grounds were well landscaped. Can't wait for our next trip there. We go to Daytona every year, and this will be where we stay from now on!
I was traveling with my mom and she needed special accommodations the manager bended over backwards to make her comfortable this our first time at the Grad Prix Motel but it will not be the last time. Until next time!!!!
As this was my third stay at the Oceanside you can probably tell that I like it. The staff has always been very helpful and friendly. The free breakfast is nice although the offerings were better the first two stays. The hotel is showing its age but I think it adds a touch of class. The lobby is very attractive and the grounds around the pool are kept impeccable. I plan on staying here during my next visit to Daytona.
*For these trips, trip savings is at least equal to the cost of the flight or hotel if booked separately. Note: For trips including flights, you will be charged by the airline for the flight, but your savings on the trip will equal the cost of the flight.
