"The public areas are gorgeous. Downstairs there is a lounge with generous snack options as well as onsen.I'm in a wheelchair and my needs are unique. The room is barely wheelchair accessible and the entry to the bathroom is not. That was not a problem for me but I warn other wheelchair users they would not be happy here. I needed a roll in shower which it had. Breakfasts were excellent and their French toast is the best I've ever had with incredibly custardy interior. Dinner on the other hand...

"Thanks for the hotel gave me a room with the fantastic view of Niko castle. However, there was a sort of noise we could not find where it came from. The hotel kindly offered another room. The location of Gion Ryokan Karaku is very central. Just a couple of minutes away from Yatasa Shrine and an easy 15 minutes walk to Kiyomizu Dera temple. "My boyfriend and I stayed at Pocket for several days while visiting Kyoto. It is located in such a convenient area (walkable distance to Nishiki and transit). The property itself is clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful! It is definitely worth staying here for the price! The only complaint I have come from the other foreigners/tourists. Please be respectful of the space especially when maintaining cleanliness as this is a shared space. Otherwise, I’d definitely recommend Pocket hotel! "
