"We had a wonderful last minute one night stay at Olive House for a quick getaway. The place is spotless, clearly it’s recently been renovated to a high standard. The room was comfortable, spacious, clean and well equipped. Should we be back in Ambleside we will certainly book again. Location is also perfect and although the property does not have dedicated parking there are plenty of overnight options very close by."

"Lovely hotel, very well situated and very friendly staff. Our room was located outside of the main building with private parking right outside. We also had a small private seating area outside which was really nice. The room had everything we needed aside from shower gel so make sure to bring your own!"

Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa

"Great location and so convenient for local restaurants and shops. Parking offside took a minute or two and was really easy. Our room was very large and perfect for my disabled Mum. Breakfast and food in the bar was excellent. It was lovely to sit and relax with such a stunning view. Chantelle made sure our room was always clean and lovely to return to. All the staff were so sweet and nothing was too much trouble. Overall great value, fabulous location, gorgeous views and walkability."

The Ryebeck Hotel

"We booked the Ryebeck for our 15th Wedding Anniversary, and we were made to feel welcome before we even arrived. Craig and his team made us feel welcome and part of the furniture. They're incredibly attentive and accommodating. The room was clean and very comfortable, with a great shower. The view out over the lake is incredible, and the gardens are lovely for a stroll. Dogs are very welcome and are treated to sausages at breakfast. The Chef might be the best-kept secret ever! We were blown away by how good the food and the menu are. It can change a couple of times a week depending on what the chef can get from local producers. Breakfast was also delightful, and the French toast was unreal! It's a short walk into Bowness with plenty of parking in their car park. We are already looking at dates to book again."
