"The person that checked us in was very nice and helpful. The room was clean, but the bed mattress was very old and made creaking noises. The bed needs to be replaced. The breakfast was great with lots of choices. "

"I went to a Humboldt 30 years ago and chose to stay at the Hotel Arcata while on a recent college tour visit with our son. Stay at the Hotel Arcata for the you-can’t- get- more-central location on the Arcata Plaza and the friendly, helpful staff. Yes, the hotel is old and quirky, but it’s clean and the rooms are large. the hallways are full of really great historic photos of the area and the visitors guide to the area that they have created is really quite exceptional. They do offer muffins and yogurts in their breakfast lounge, but we passed those up every morning so that we could go to Los Bagels instead! Definitely bring your ear plugs if you are staying on a Friday or Saturday night because the Plaza will be full of students bar-hopping. But Sunday was very quiet. :-) Anyway, thank you for the stay, Hotel Arcata! "

"Great property, completely updated throughout. Check in was a breeze with no hiccups. And did Toni think of everything, amenity-wise? Yes! Fresh, fluffy towels, quality cookware, a variety of small kitchen appliances for use - even those little clips for chip bags. Beds are also new and quite comfy. One note of caution: it doesn't show in the pics so well, but the driveway is steep and the hump over the sidewalk is prominent. If you have a lower vehicle as we do, it may scrape the bottom unless you approach from an angle. All in all, a great stay - thanks!"
