"It was my 1st ever time staying at a Britannia hotel and I felt I didn't get value for money from what I'd paid to stay overnight because breakfast buffet wasn't included, which was disappointing. However, I felt I got a decent price for a very spacious double room with a nice view of Coventry city centre and I'd definitely consider staying at a Britannia hotel again if breakfast was included in the price instead of being quoted £24 to have breakfast added to the cost of staying overnight"

"My 2nd time staying here. I usually just stay overnight to see my sister in law, who lives very close by. Love the style of the hotel. Very lovely bathroom. Close to the coach station, which we used getting in and out of Coventry to Heathrow Airport. Also very convenient to restaurant and a mall within a few steps. 20 minutes from Coventry station which is very walkable, and convenient to us getting to the Yorkshire."

"Expensive for what it was, hotel felt very budget and hostel like despite paying top prices. Expected a much better hotel for price. Only saving grace staff friendly and helpful. Rooms run down, dirty sand weirdly laid out. Impractical kettle no where near plug. Uncomftable beds, pillows awful. Breakfast basic and badly cooked."

"My wife and our two young children arrived at 6pm to be told that the prepaid family room, booked and paid for two months in advance, was unavailable because the hotel had overbooked. That is a breach of the booking we paid for, and the explanation given ("it's what the airlines do") was wholly inadequate. In a frustrated and passive aggressive tone, the male reception staff member even said “I’ve had to deal with this stuff all day!” My wife was left stranded hours from home with one autistic child, while the reception staff were dismissive and unhelpful. The options offered were unreasonable: 1) separate rooms for a mother and young children (expecting one of the children to stay in a room on her own!), 2) a twin room for two children to share a single bed, or 3) find another hotel. After escalation, the hotel eventually arranged alternative accommodation in a Ramada hotel 10 minute’s drive away, but it was inferior, in a less suitable location, and required my wife to walk from a separate carpark in an undesirable area at night with children and luggage. Ultimately, the hotel failed to provide a reasonable alternative promptly, and its handling of the matter fell far below any acceptable standard of care. We incurred distress, inconvenience, and a clear loss of the service we contracted for. We will not return and I would urge anyone to reconsider using this hotel."

"the rating would be much higher if it weren't for the rudeness experienced during the check-in process. The key box was nearly impossible to find. The manager was very rude and completely impatient as we tried to navigate the property to find it. He kept referencing the photos in the property guide and chastising me for having not "read the guide." Unfortunately, the area next to the property is under construction and an important landmark in the photo is now gone making the "guide" irrelevant. He was a real jerk. Once we were able to access the property, it was fine. Very clean and secure. Visitors should note that construction has made driving around the property very difficult unless you are using a taxi or a bus. "

"Convenient location accessed from a non description door just down from Pizza express. Inside it's stark, light grey walls, no decoration, more prison-esque than relaxing retreat at the end of the day. Convenient for food and pubs and quiet it's in a good location. Clean inside, large bathroom with scalding hot water I reported as dangerously hot. There are better, nicer, and cheaper serviced apartments in Coventry city centre."

"On arrival, we were dismayed to find the "Queen Bed" was smaller than a double bed and was not at all suitable for our stay. It seems the definition of this bed size is not universally accepted. After discussion with the professional "Richard" I informed him that we would not be staying. I request a refund as the room was available to relet for anyone willing to use a small bed. Deeply disappointed and will not recommend"
