Let’s be fair the place could use an update but had a smooth (and somewhat funny) check in with a cool little 3-legged dog manning reception. Didn’t end up actually staying due to personal circumstance but from what I saw the place was in pretty good nick for what I paid. My studio was HUGE, beds felt comfy, staff were chill and friendly (we like chill) and a nice, quiet environment

They went out of their way to assist. They had our meal ready by the time we arrived as I had emailled them about restaurant closing time and was suggested I preorder. Very friendly

The property needs a huge upgrade and the cleaning was not that great. U pay for what u get. Got given milk that expired that day, some sugar in unit no tea or coffee, yet there was the unit for it to go in.

This is the most cleanest and convenient I have stayed an accomodation here in NZ.Ive been staying in other motels here in NZ and I can really guarantee you this place is the best plus the staff was so friendly and accomodating.Very kind the lady that gave us the key. Highly recommend this place.I will definitely come back again.

Ann greeted us warmly when we arrived with a bottle of fresh milk for our coffee and tea and made us feel at home. The rooms are spotless clean and have all the amenities you need for comfort and the kitchenette is terrific for cooking meals. It is a very cheery and welcoming place to relax and rest near the river.

Vista is an older motel but completely adequate for a longer stay than normal over Xmas. Staff lovely.

It was like stepping back 40 years. Bird poop on the door. Mirror in bathroom not cleaned, toilet seat nearly off, mould in the shower and window sills. Cobwebs with moths in them. Only half the lights operated. Power point only on one side of the bed. I have stayed at the local camping ground and this would have been a better option.

The rooms are spacious but in need of redecoration. The whole place was tired and definitely dated. The dining facilities were closed during to Covid but the menu looked good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The tariff was expensive for the quality of the accomodation.

Both their and Wotif’s website stated that last check-in is 6pm and if you intend to be later to contact them for ‘late check-in’ process. My booking was for 25 & 26 Dec 2021 and i felt sure i would arrived after 6pm. I phoned both the phone numbers on their website, one of which was permanently engaged left a voicemail on other, asking for guidance on 2 days running. No response was received by me. I was left with a very stressful situation of wondering how i was going to get a room late Xmas day evening. It would seem that nobody monitors their voicemail messages to reassure guests of what is required. This is not good customer service.

The room was run-down and in need of repair. Three lights weren't working and the connection to one light was unstable. Another light fitting had a burn mark on the wall with no bulb or light cover. The wardrobe pelmet had fallen off or been taken down and just left in the wardrobe. The carpet was heavily stained. The bathroom floor was filthy with a thick build up of dirt in the corners and along the skirting. The curtains were heavily stained.

Just so happy we were able to find accommodation during the school holidays as we were attending a family bereavement but not so happy with the cleanliness of the 2 Bdrm Unit we stayed in, along with other minor disappointments the major one was the element caught fire it looked like the stove hadn't been cleaned for quite sometime. We have no problem of any household appliance and furniture being dated, as long as they are clean and in working order which unfortunately this wasnt the case. Hopefully my concerns will be noted for improvements to aim for excellence in the next reviews.

Awesome place to stay! Will definately stay again, super friendly staff, yum, overfilling restaurant!! Peaceful and quiet considering its near the main drag. Cleanliness is top notch. Was only planning on one nights stay but ended up staying the whole weekend!

This was a two night booking. Arrival and night 1. Room key was missing so we are given a service key. Found room key in back door. The fridge had 3 feet so leaned over, the bedroom to bathroom door either jammed open or closed. The toilet had a loud drip that annoyed me all night. I could write my name in the dust. Asked for a new room for the second night. If the first room was a 1 this was a 8. Everything worked and was tidy. Just needs to have this standard in all rooms.
