Things to Note: Home is located in a quiet family neighborhood with lots of street parking. Like most of Waco, this neighborhood is a mixture of old and new homes. There are quite a few older homes, some rundown, some needing some TLC, but it is fun to drive around and see all the potential "Fixer Uppers" that Chip and Joanna might hit up next.

  • The Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, Texas is a terrific zoo! The zoo has a great range of animals and exhibits and the grounds are well kept and spacious. There's lots of shade to keep you somewhat cool during those hot Texan summer months if you visit during that time frame. The animal enclosures are nice, and can really give you great views of the animals themselves if you are a bit patient. This also makes for great photo views, as shown here with this photo of an approaching jaguar. Food and snack prices are also very reasonable, as are prices for souvenirs. This zoo makes for a great day out for the family.

Girls Weekend

Dallas and Austin friends meet in Waco for the weekend! Home was super cute and nicely decorated. It was clean, beds were comfortable, and it was stocked with things like cotton balls and qtips in case they were forgotten. We had a great experience!

Friend trip

Friend trip to Waco to visit the Silos at Christmas. This house was so cute, clean and stocked with everything you need. Easy check in and the host was so friendly. Neighborhood was quiet and neighbors seemed nice. We would stay again.

Perfect for a Girls Weekend

Great Waco Rental

This rental met or exceeded all of our expectations. It's in a great location, centrally located in Waco and a short drive anywhere you want to go. The house was clean and have everything we needed for our stay. Would rent again!

Awesome Stay

The Fried Green Tomato is the perfect place for a visit to Waco. The home has been nicely renovated and is well- appointed, and it is centrally located to all things that attract you to Waco. We found the property to be pet-friendly, and Karen, our host, is very kind and accomodating. Not sure when we'll make it back to Waco, but we know where we'll be staying.

Cute on the inside. Backyard cover patio very cute only 2 concerns I had was fallen tree limbs/branches in backyard so little dangerous for toddler had to move a couple to the side and then backsplash in kitchen a little dirty side

Bestie Trip!

Property was exactly how its listed. Beautiful and well maintained home. Neighborhood is located close to everything and neighbors were nice and we felt safe. Karen (the owner) was easy to reach and would answer any questions immediately. Every detail was well thought of and very accommodating. Close to all attractions with a short drive. We came for a bestie trip to the Magnolia Market at the Silos and stay 4 nights and we will definitely come back to do again. Had the best time!

Friend Time

The house is amazing and decorated with a whimsical touch that is bright and cheerful. There are many little touches that make you feel right at home. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the small appliances, kitchenware, and even spices to make a superb meal. I would highly recommend this property.

A Gem

This property is truly a gem. My friend and I traveled to Waco to have the full Magnolia’s experience. We were close to everything, it was easy to get around and the property was clean and looked just like the pictures. The neighborhood looks a little rough but we had absolutely no issues. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Everything We Wanted

This was our first trip to Waco and in keeping with the "Fixer Upper" theme of our trip, we wanted to stay in an order, remodeled home. Fried Green Tomato was a perfect fit for us. It's cute, comfortable, and convenient. Karen was quick to respond when I had a couple of questions. The neighborhood was quiet and brought back the best memories of growing up in the Midwest. We would definitely stay here again.

a comfortable stay

This is a quaint little property that served its purpose. We needed a bed for the night for the Cross Country state meet. It provided just that. We had three adults in the home (parents and an adult child) and it was manageable. (With one bathroom, I really am not sure how a party of 5+ could make it work.) The only down tick, minor though, is it is simply an older neighborhood. We did not feel unsafe at all though. I would consider again next year, but he was a senior so no more state.

The Fried Green Tomato

My wife attended a conference at Baylor during the week of February 29th. We were able to book the Fried Green Tomato for February 29th - March 3rd. Communication with the host was effective and responsive. Our stay was enjoyable and close in proximity to Baylor and grocery stores such as HEB. We loved the fact that the host is pet-friendly, as we were able to bring our 29 lb Mini Hippo (cross between a Cocker Spaniel and Sharpei). There are dogs in the community, that are outside dogs and will bark, but that is expected. Other than that, our stay was pleasant and we did not experience any negative issues.
