If you are a light sleeper - stay away on weekend. Disco music, deep base boom - boom to as late as 2:30 AM. Heavy sleepers were less bothered. Management response was unfortunate - they could not do anything. They had contract with the Disco operator. Sleeping guests is not a priority on weekends. Great place on non weekend days

A solid Swedish hotel experience
Terrific old-school resort town hotel experience. Calm, collected staff, with a sense that an austere Swedish old order is somehow looking out for you. Solid furniture and great room temperature, despite the cold.

Perfect location in the center of Visby. Staff was very nice and helpful. We stayed in the Economy Room and the only issue was the rooms were warm in August with no air conditioning. However, there were fans but would prefer air conditioned rooms which I will make sure to check for next time.

The receptionist was not so nice. There was no wifi in the room. They claim that it works if you log in at the reception first, but that was not true. Breakfast was served too late fo rthose travelling with the morning ferry.

Good stay at Donner Hotel
We had a standard apartment with kitchen, whick we did not use very much. Everything was clean and the service was very good. The breakfast was served in another hotel 150 m away.

The one downside here is that parking options are abysmal. This is probably a problem that’s universal within the city walls in Visby, though, so consider it part of the cost of admission.

Great accommodation and delicious breakfasts
We were upgraded to a more luxurious room which was a surprise on arrival. Four poster bed! Overlooked the town square. Lovely buffet continental breakfast including cheese selection, cut fruit , eggs (boiled and scrambled) and mini pancakes with crispy bacon. We doused ours in honey. Yum. We could sit outside or indoors. Everyone spoke excellent English.

Avoid fourth floor
Initial room on fourth floor was awkward. Tiny windows at floor level with operable skylights if you stand on chair. Changed to 3rd floor room - much better. Staff very helpful.

They took care of me when i arrived late was very happy with that. But the wifi was very bad and there was hardly any hot water for my shower the whole five days i was there. But the breakfast was very excellent. Other than that i was happy.

Fine place to stay in Visby
Room was a self catering apartment. Spotlessly clean, nicely appointed, comfortable, only thing missing was coffee and sugar and wifi was not great in the room. Location was excellent, staff helpful and friendly. Great breakfast. Highly recommended.

Amazing cosy hotel
What an amazing hotel! We got a fantastic room in the annex, just been renovated and had a cool 3 m deep well in the room with a glass over so that you actually could stand on top of it! the location and breakfast was fanstastic! I will definately stay here again!

The staff and the location of the hotel couldnt be any better. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Our plane didn't leave until late in the day but the hotel kept our bags for us so we could explore the town without the hassel of dragging our bags with us.The only downside was that although the location is great for the sights you wnat to see, it is in a busy and loud night area. Bring earplugs.
