"What stood out??? Well, for one, it was the staff. They welcomed me and gave me a lovely room. I had a table booked for 10 of my family, and the food was excellent. The wine was superb too, and I asked for a favour, which they delivered. This is one of my favourite hotels in the UK and will be my go-to whenever I go to Somerset to see my family. The only downside is the parking, but that is minuscule compared to the service I received from The Ancient Gatehouse. Well done all. "

Wonderful hotel like welcome with snacks and milk in fridge , bathrobes and bathroom amenities. Very responsive and welcoming host. Lovely little garden around and sunrise in bedroom windows . The pans could do with updating and more variety (pans old and scratched non sick and no pasta/ soup large pot) "

"We spent 2 nights in Wells in Emily’s place. It was a perfect spot from which to enjoy all the things Wells had to offer. Emily was communicative, went out of her way to make us comfortable my allowing us to check in early and out late, left some nice snacks and everything we needed for our time there. The cottage was nicely furnished and decorated, clean and modern."
