Greenwood Farm log cabin close to the Bourbon Trail and Keeneland
It is a 200 year old log cabin in Woodford County on a cattle farm owned by the same family since the late 1700’s. It is located just 3.7 miles from the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, with 5 distilleries within 10 miles. It is a 20 minute drive to Keeneland and the Bluegrass airport, 35 minutes to the KY Horse Park and 1 hour to Churchill Downs. A great location for anyone attending the Keeneland races or planning to follow the Bourbon Trail. The space The cabin has 1 BR with a double bed downstairs, 2 BRs with 2 twin beds in each room upstairs, 1 BA downstairs and fireplaces in the LR and downstairs BR. The original log potion of the cabin contains the LR and the 3 BRs. The kitchen, study and bathroom are three steps down from the original portion, and the sunroom is 1 step down from the kitchen. Gates are available in the case of small children to avoid falls down the steps. Guests need to take care when using the steps to the upstairs and the steps going from one portion of the cabin to the other since they are narrow and very steep. This is common with old cabins. There is a smart TV in the LR with Netflix available. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove and a dining area. The study has a dedicated work space and Wi-Fi is available. The sunroom has a second dining area, and the washer and dryer. The bathroom has a shower/bath, hair dryer and towel warmer. There is a deck at the back with a propane grill. There are two closets, one in the sunroom and one in an upstairs bedroom. A hat rack and wall pegs have been provided for additional hanging space. Parking is definitely free. The cabin is secluded and peaceful, surrounded by mature trees with areas for walking and just enjoying nature. Guest access Guests are encourage to walk and enjoy the farm but are not permitted in any barns or fenced areas even if gates are open. There is no swimming, wadding or ice skating allowed on the pond, which is not fence and contains snapping turtles. Also any farm machinery is off limits. This is a working farm, and we want guests, as well as the livestock to remain safe. A map of the farm is included in the "Cabin Manual " with the areas guests are allowed marked. Other things to note Pets must be on a leash and children must be supervised at all times for their safety and the safety of the cattle and horses. Some of the fencing is electric so additional care should be taken when close to those fences. There are some signs marking this type of fencing. This is not a good choice for someone with mobility issues because of the steps going from one section of the cabin to another. They are very narrow and steep.

This is a lovingly restored historical log cabin with tons of very interesting features. But, it also has all the modern comforts, a well stocked kitchen, nice towels, antique furniture, etc. It has a wonderfully picturesque views from two porches. I can't say enough good things about the stay!
Beautiful farm cabin. We were in town visiting the bourbon trail. This is a great location with quick access to several distilleries. The property is beautiful, and the owners are great hosts. I would definitely stay here again!
Perfect location for relaxation. The views from the front porch and back porch were a wonderful way to start and end each day. Would highly recommend staying here. The fireplaces were so nice. The kitchen had everything and more. The grounds are beautiful. Thank you for sharing your lovely farmhouse.
We very much enjoyed the cabin/house, especially the history. So glad the original structure is still there and the decorating fits the time period. It is also well appointed. I had fun imagining the original owners. The location is so peaceful yet central to many attractions. I definitely recommend the property.
We really enjoyed our stay here. We were allowed our 2 family dogs and the quietness was wonderful. The hosts were very accommodating and were very considerate. It snowed our last night there and they contacted us to let us know there was no hurry to check out if we were concerned about the roads. The cabin is so historic, which I truly enjoy. The cabin is located near several of the distilleries we were visiting. It is well stocked! The internet was very iffy but it gave us some great family time with card games. Would highly recommend this place with able bodied people. The stairs are steep, as listed, so not too good for the elderly. All in all, would recommend this cozy, warm and historic cottage.
I wish I could give Greenwood Farm Log Cabin a 10+ star rating. The cabin is absolutely perfect. There's so much history, in the cabin. Nicky and Campbell's farm is absolutely breathtaking, and peaceful. They were so kind to our family, and let us join in with feeding the horses. The location, of the cabin, is in a great location for touring and shopping.
After touring and visiting family, it was a special treat, to sit on the front porch, and watch the fireflies dance throughout the summer night. It was surreal, to see the morning view, from the front porch. The Kentucky morning fog lingering over the property, as the horses walked around in their own field. Absolutely breathtaking. The Kentucky sunset is breathtaking, too.
We were sad to leave the beautiful cabin. My family is already making plans to reserve the cabin, for next years trip.
Perfect for our needs.Came up for keenland and the Kentucky Tennessee game. Was a perfect spot for us and everything was exactly as described. Had a blast and the property is super pretty. Will be coming back again!
Absolutely gorgeous property!!! The view was amazing, I wish we could have stayed longer to take it in more. The house was filled with such history….there were pictures with info explaining the origin of the home & family. Highly recommend staying here! The hosts were great also!
The farm was absolutely gorgeous, quiet and on a lovely road. The house was fully equipped, super clean, organized and so tastefully decorated. We loved our stay there and would return for sure.
Everything about this visit was perfect. The property is beautiful, the cabin charming and well-appointed, and Nicola and Campbell are very gracious hosts. It was very difficult for us to leave! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We loved every minute in this quaint cabin on a working farm! It was so peaceful and welcoming; comfortable in every way! I can’t wait to return without the kids(sorry guys) and enjoy an even more relaxing getaway! The cabin had everything we needed and some extras!
A lovely farmhouse on a beautiful property. The farmhouse is charming, warm and had everything we needed. Great location to the bourbon trail and lovely little historical towns.
Nicky and Campell were great.
We would love to come back!
Our family of 4 and our dog had a truly wonderful time at the cabin. It's located on a beautiful property, with cows and horses grazing on rolling fields all around you, and the cabin is thoughtfully appointed, beautifully decorated and teems with history. Everything you need is there. The best part are the hosts who are wonderful people, and were a joy to meet. Thank you so much for such a memorable stay!
We had an amazing time and loved every bit of the peace and quiet ❤️ definitely will stay again 😊 and anything we needed they were very helpful and responded very fast !
This was the perfect spot for this group and our trip. It is centrally located to all of the distilleries in the area as well as restaurants.
The cabin is not only an incredible piece of history, but well renovated and comfortable. The sunset from the back porch and 360 degree view of the land is amazing!
Fresh continental breakfast upon our arrival with fresh ground coffee was a nice touch, and communication with Nicky (our host) was easy and timely.
It was an incredible experience - I highly recommend, and would love to return my next time there.
