We enjoyed our stay at The Block House. The location was perfect and centrally positioned in the middle of everything. It was quite and easy checking in and out. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Vancouver

Location was great, although the neighborhood around could be a bit sketchy. A little confusing, checking in the first time without any front desk, but it all worked out fine. Definitely an in-city gem; would stay there again in a minute!

Loved it! Great location. Great place, quiet. Close to everything. The place was very comfortable and well appointed. Awesome bathroom. Comfy bed. Great kitchenette. Easy access. Immaculate common areas. Can't stress enough how much I loved the location, right in Gastown! I hope to return next time I'm in YVR! Loved it!

Loved the location! The hotel is in the heart of Gastown and within walking distance of many of Vancouver’s top tourist attractions, as well as great restaurants and cafés. Check-in and check-out were quick and seamless, and the digital key system made everything very convenient. The amenities were modern, complete, and well-maintained. I especially loved the interior—it perfectly blends modern design with the building’s historic charm. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay. There was a nice simplicity to the check-in process, even without a human receptionist. Th room was nice and had lots of character with the charm of an old building, old brick, and massive wooden timbers. The Secure parking felt expensive, but necessary. The neighborhood is great from a tourist perspective, but not without some issues. The room’s amenities had potential but I think they need a better checklist. For example, the room came with a nice knife block fill with great cutting knives, like one would need for making a nice meal. But, there were no plates, no spoons, or forks. That seemed odd and was not remedied even after we mentioned the issue to the housekeeper. With that deficit noted, I would easily choose to stay at the Block House again.

The room we had was spotless, exceptionally clean, and looked new. Bedding and towels were are spotless too. The bed was big and comfy and the TV all worked etc. The shower room and toilet were exceptionally clean, well stocked and looked new again. Our room did lack coffee and tea making facilities which when we enquired wasn't available in our type of room, so check in advance. The access and security was good, you are given codes to enter the building and your room. We came across a few glitches on the on-line check in but the team did everything to sort this. The place is run by virtual check-in but they always answer any questions very quickly. The location is at the edge of Gastown which if you walk one block out of town, there are clearly social issues - but this isnt the Block's issue- just don't go that way. Otherwise the location is brilliant for the city and all it's shops and pubs etc. (Gastown is fantastic!). We had good views from our windows. I would definitely recommend staying here - it is contemporary, clean and good value for money.

Such a beautiful well designed hotel. It knocks everything out the park. Very good secure parking. Great location for walking. The only thing that is not in the hotel's control is the homeless situation. I had kids and it was very challenging to navigate homeless people around the hotel. Other than that, this is a beautiful space with more than everything you would need for the stay. Free laundry is a huge plus!

A great venue and a nice room but the kitchen was missing neccessary items and there was no dishwasher. Also the rooms has not serviced. It wasn't clear on Expedia that this was an apartment and NOT a hotel room.
