"The restaurant/bar Carlotta's was closed for the season and it wasn't mentioned anywhere on the website. It was the main reason we chose this hotel over others. Nothing special without Carlotta's. "

"location is convenient but not in a safe area. walls are really thin, can hear everything from the next door room. called front desk about noise complaint, they did nothing. amenities are really old, carpet smells. NO AC. radiator heater seems to go off automatically but cannot be adjusted in room. keys to enter room would frequently not work and had to go to the front desk multiple times to fix . overall would not stay again, doable for maybe one night only though. "

"The room had a very musky, damp smell. The beds were comfortable. The bar and bar staff were very cool, but it was very expensive for cocktails. No microwave. No view from the window. In fact it was very scary. It looked out part of the roof and pipes. A little scared people from the streets could access it as we were on the second floor."

"The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout! The room was perfectly fine and there was a coffee/espresso machine in the lobby available round the clock. The price was good for the dates I needed-- a good business travel hotel for a couple of nights. There was at least one hiccup: when I arrived, I was told the hotel was heavily booked and I was moved to a wheelchair accessible room-- which would've been fine, except the automatic door to the room only worked very intermittently, and there was no other way to get inside. I got in once, then returned late that night and the door wouldn't open at all. They got maintenance to open the door with a key so I could get my stuff and moved me to a different room down the hall, but not great as far as the state of the place goes (good thing I didn't actually NEED a wheelchair accessible room!) The other thing is that there was a radiator in the room, but it was quite warm while I was there, and I tried to turn the radiator off entirely, but it seemed like it stayed on? And it was loud off and on all hours of the day & night. There was a ceiling fan, but that only does so much when it's hot in the room, and you could open the windows, but it's a loud part of town. So I'd recommend earplugs and/or white noise. Speaking of the part of town, it's on the edge of the Tenderloin, which if you're not from SF, just know that it's the sketchiest, dirtiest part of town. Pick your walking path carefully!"
