"Great spot for Tongariro. A few necessities nearby. Ian is very welcoming - perhaps too much so. Bathrooms need a deep clean I'm afraid (there was a hand towel in a very bad condition). It's a shame that the property details say access to pool and spa. Yes, they are at a different property (which is fine) but staying here doesn't give you the ability to use it free of charge (which is sort of implied). Really kooky little place with a really nice outdoor section in the middle of the hostel. Kitchen is very good "

"Good spot, we missed the reception (but got keys ok from lockbox). We had a cabin, it was a bit smaller than the photos showed but was a nice spot to rest for the night. "

"Parking was easy, unit was clean and cosy and as pictured, only downside was the main road traffic noise, otherwise a pleasant and convenient stop off midway between Auckland and Wellington."
