Pros: cleanliness of the room, extra supplies in the lobby in case you need it, laundry in the room, and the layout of the room.
There is no staff on site but there is an easy check in and check out process.
Would recommend and come back.
We traveled here with my wife and two kids. The place was amazing. The check in process was easy once you get through the registration process. We would definitely stay here if we come back to Tokyo.
The area is quiet, safe. Across the street there is a supermarket and many restaurants and stores nearby. Location is super convenient. Train station has close. Hotel is very nice, and clean. Very happy with our stay. Would highly recommend this place.
Located in a nice quiet neighborhood... 7-11 is within walking distance, subway stations is a far walk..there is no room service..the room is big and comfortable.
Convinient location to multiple contvinient stores and train station. Walkable to everything. We had an issue with Wifi not connecting, but it wasn't a big deal for us as we all had international data plan. Very clean and it was nice to be able to dry clothes in the bathroom with buil-in heater with a fan. Plenty of hangers to do laundry for multiple people. Checking in and out was smooth by email with codes.
We stayed this hotel 4 days in Jun of last year. Everything was good, but the hotel charged me 5 days and Expedia helped me to contact with hotel, I didn’t get money back either from hotel or Expedia until now.
We loved our stay at the Wires Hotel James Zaka.
There are so many positive elements - the local area is clean, minimal traffic, affluent demographic, there is 3 convenience stores within 200 meters, there is a playground and an enclosed public soccer pitch within 100 meters. There are two station within short walking distance and Shinagawa station is just a couple of stops away.
Check-in is self service but super easy, apartment is sound proof and quiet, we found the place clean and well maintained. Cutlery, cookware etc new and provide for us to cook at home. appartment size is reasonable for Japan - if I had one complaint it would be that the mattresses were a little too firm for my liking. Would stay here again and would highly recommend to friends and family to stay here.
We loved this hotel. It was beautifully spacious for all 5 of us, had a great bathroom set-up that allowed multiple people to get ready at once, and it was very comfortable. The room's decoration felt minimalist and calming. It felt like a joy to come back at the end of the day, sit around the table, eat together, and hang out on our beds. The bathroom was also HUGE, which was wonderful!
The only downside I can think of was that we had a washer but not a drying rack. That felt strange; we had to hang clothes all over the apartment. Since it was an unmanned hotel, we didn't know how to ask for one. It was a little inconvenient.
The place was nice. I believe it’s one room per floor here, so definitely the most spacious one out of the 3 we stayed at on our trip. It had a separate toilet room, bathroom, kitchenette, dining table, and sofa, aside from our beds. The washer unit is in the bathroom and to dry your clothes, you hang your clothes on the rod in the shower and turn on the drying function. Works fairly well, just takes a little readjustment to ensure it is all dry.
Unmanned hotel, but they are responsive if you send them an email! I had an inquiry about luggage forwarding and they got back to me pretty quickly, letting me know that we would have to send it to a nearby courier to pick up, which was about a 15 minute walk.
The hotel itself wasn’t that far from the train station (8-minute walk) so it was doable, even with aching feet. Walk a bit down the street from the hotel and you’ll conveniently find a 7-11 waiting for you!
It was very nice hotel and comfortable room. The hotel send email how to check in process a day before check in but Unfortunately, the hotel forgot to send me front door code. It’s takes time figure out contacting to customer service. Then finally opened the front door.
It was late night and raining so was miserable. Also air conditioning is working good but it was dust on it. So should clean it. Other things is well .
Overall, we had a comfortable stay as a family of 3!
Positives:
- There were more than enough towels for the duration of my stay, which was very helpful.
- The room was generally clean and easy to use.
- Swift response which was very helpful.
- Although the hotel is a bit of a walk from the station, it wasn’t too far, and it was convenient to reach places like Shinjuku/Shibuya and Haneda Airport without needing to transfer.
Development:
- It’s more like an air B&B than a hotel
- There were stains? mold? on the sofa, which was a bit disappointing as it was clean generally (but there was an extra sheets which we could use to cover it).
- The air conditioner was leaking small amount of water, which was a bit concerning (there were extra towels wo we use them).
- Perhaps due to a lack of storage, many items were left around the entrance and stairwell, creating a bit of a cluttered atmosphere.
The hotel room was basically perfect! Comfy beds, plenty of room, balcony, table and washing machine in the room was amazing! AC also worked the best of any hotel on our trip. Everywhere was perfectly clean!
The hotel is close to two stations on different lines, and was convenient for Tokyo city, Yokohama and day trips further afield to Fuji-san and takao-san. The area is well populated with shops and restaurants just a short walk away near the stations.
Unfortunately the check in process was absolutely miserable. The hotel forgot to send me the front door code, and there is no way to contact anyone inside the hotel from outside. The help number listed outside also was not answered. I had to find one that worked on the hotel website. When we eventually got in, the lobby must have been well over 40 degrees with no ventilation. Japanese summers!
Really unfortunate as the room was so nice, but this is the worst first impression I’ve ever had at any hotel. It seems the hotel forgetting to send the code is a repeat issue - someone else mentioned this in a review. Would be great if management would either take more care to send the code out or install a buzzer to contact the staff member inside - who was lovely despite us not knowing much Japanese.
